DO NOT BUY from them. Communication is awful and they do not tell customers when items are backordered, but rather take your money without providing you that (rather useful) information up front. They DO NOT reply to all emails within 24 hours (or even a week for that matter) as stated on their website. When they finally get around to telling you the backorder status of the order 3 weeks and countless emails later, they do not issue a refund. I have a paypal dispute pending. BUYER BEWARE!

I will edit this thread accordingly if I get a refund, but I want to pass this experience on to all of you. Doesn't seem like they've got their stuff together too well.

Oh, and they're located in Seattle, if anyone wants to go get my stuff for me tongue.gif

I ordered a decorative license plate from europeanplates.com about 2 years ago for my wife and I had the same problem....I eventually got the plate but not a good ordeal.

I didn't even an order a plate, just a basic black euro frame. That's what makes it even more frustrating

europeanplates.com isn't bad, just slow. The euro plates I've had over the years have all come from them, and the quality is exceptional. Good things come in time, so I recommend not getting so worked up over things that aren't critical to your car running properly.

Glad to know someone else had problems with them and not just me. It took me an email threating a lawsuit before I got my plates.

Funny how after 6 months of emailing I never recieved one back until I mention legal action.

That's some great customer service dry.gif

All in all it took me 8 months to get my swedish plate. Pathetic...

That's strange, I've ordered two or three plates from them and had nothing but smooth sailing each time...

... Sorry to hear it man sad.gif
I left.

Then I sold my car. Then I got a new car, because S80s are cool. Right?
Then I came back.

... Circle of life, or whatever.

Not like I care about 20 bucks for a plate frame, and of course I can wait for it....but I'm really pissed that they don't deem it necessary to tell customers when stock is backordered, I find that to be an incredibly shady business practice. Not to mention the communication has been atrocious.

I know that europeanplates.com is the guys side business "helping" the euro community. He does work full time at a different job, he doesn't need to even bother selling plates but still continues to (as some of you will say "occasionally").

that's fine, but my point is that if you run a business, whether it's "on the side" or as your primary job, there are certain standards that should be adhered to. There are vendors on VS who do other jobs first and sell to us second, but a "sorry, your item is backordered, what would you like to do" email is not hard to do. Basic communication with a buyer is not too outrageous of a request.

That said, I am happy to report that since filing the dispute, the company has finally responded. I've got a different license plate frame en route.

Very True. It is a good honest company but very slow.

The sad thing is I just threw away bunch of those black euro frames..... I had like 10 in my garage..... sad.gif

I've bought numerous plates from them over the past few years - great to deal with, good quality on the plates, fast delivery times. It's never taken more than a ~5 days for mine to show up, from the time I placed the order. Pretty good turn-around time IMO, considering they're in FL an I'm in Cali and it's a "made to order" item. Also, their plates are actually stamped where as some of the other sites I've seen only sold screened on custom plate numbers.

Hell, a couple years back I had placed an order on their website for a Swedish plate on a day when a hurricane ripped through their part of FL, and I still had the plate in my hands 3 days later. 'Nuff said.
