Searching Google for V70 GLT points out that they all had LPT's and put out 190 BHP when new. Is this guy full of it?

Yeah, that was also my understanding that, starting in 1998 S and V70 GLT had the LPT, whereas the 1997 850 did not.

GLT in a 850 was a trim line not a engine line
you can havea 850 GLT and be either Non turbo or turbo
so a 1998 V70 GLT = LPT

Nope, it was pretty clear, it said GLT. So, it seems as though this fella is a little confused, or maybe someone snuck the GLT badge on the thing.
Anyhow, looks pretty clean, leather interior, Eurorails, has 191k miles on it, and the guy is asking $4500.
Anyone think that is a bad deal? I checked the NADA value, and the retail is $5200 (This guy is an dealer, but just a local used car dealer, and not a dealership)
Appreciate any tips. Would like to get this, and give my N/A to the wife.

All 1997+ GLT's are low pressure turbos.
a 1997 850 GLT is a low pressure turbo.
From 94-95 there were:
850
850 GLT
850 T5
850 T5R
From 96-97 there were:
850
850 GLT
850 T5
850 R
Some of the 850's had a "Sportwagon" badge, but that did not mean it was a turbo.

Correct!
and what is weird is that when buying insurance for my car 5 years ago, the company had no clue there were turbo models. She just asked "GLT or regular?" I was like ... umm....GLT?
maybe i got cheaper insurance... who knows

With the limited info provided, yes. What maintenance has been done? Last TB? How's the suspension components? At 191K, even a Volvo is getting a little long in the tooth.
At a minimum, I'd knock at least a grand off of his price.

If the car is in average condition (i.e. needs repairs to suspension and such)
This is not a very good deal (maybe it would be to a used car dealer
Be patient, these cars are getting cheaper to buy

He also said that he did not have the maintenance history, so I will be taking a big fat hairy PASS on this one..
Thanks for all the wise tutelage. Even though the vehicle inside and out is pristine, he's asking too much.

With that said, is is common for repair facilities to sell vehicles for what the repair costs? I mean, obviously a mechanics lein is due to someone not being able to afford a repair. Anyhow, with any luck Goodwin's will have some good news for me..
