So now that I've started trying to up the boost I'm getting fuel cutoff. So far from my experimenting, anything over 11-12 psi of boost will cause fuel cut on my car. And this is with a custom upsolute chip. Anybody else have this problem? Is this just the ECU's fault or is it something else? I guess I might try to talk to another upsolute rep and see what they say but wanted to get you guys opinion first.

LPT, summer, 12 psi... sounds about right. May not be fuel cut, I would guess knock sensor maybe.

It does this when it's cold out too. It was in the 50's when I was at the track last friday. Why knock sensor? Most of you guys run a lot more boost than I am and I don't think ya'll have this problem.

we also have HPT vehicles that boost 9.6 PSI from the factory with the stock ECU allowing for 14 PSI.
Your car is different, also the 16T pushes out much more air at the same boost levels than the 13G that your car came equipped with originally. Don't take boost #'s at face value

Right but a lot of the HPT's are running 17+ psi without issue. I'm guessing the chip allows them to do so. So my chip should let me. I guess I need to talk to upsolute again...

17+ PSI from 10 PSI stock, so a 7 PSI increase. You boost 6-7 PSI stock. A 7 PSI increase from that is 13 PSI. Have you checked what your injectors can push?

Unless your compression ratio is 8.5:1 quoting HPT numbers is like me comparing my car to a Sabb Draken,

I have two ECUs and a MBC set for 15-16 psi for my car. One flashed by iPd and a chip installed by Bill when we worked for Upsolute. The ipd ecu has been great, but will only allow for 12 psi without a MBC. The Upsolute from day one has given me problems which I also feel is fuel cutoff. With the Upsolute & MBC I can ease into the throttle and can slowly boost upto 15-16 psi, same if I brake boost. If I start from a dead stop or even a highway run and hit WOT car will lose boost, RPM, and MPH. As if I turned the car off for a split sec and then restarted. I have installed the Upsolute ECU in a HPT 850(Adam, AKA Turbo brick) and it did the same. I'm sure it's not the injectors since I also have the orange 310 injectors. Same as the HPT 850.

Thanks for the info Jesse. That's a big help! So are you running the ipd ecu now with an mbc set at 15 psi?

Yes for the past year I've had the ipd ecu with the mbc set at 15psi. Is your car doing the same as mine with the Upsolute chip?

Yeah when I go to WOT in 2nd or 3rd after a couple seconds it will cutoff and usually I let off the gas and everything is normal. It did it at the track and I kept the pedal to the floor and it went back to WOT after a split second then cut off again a second later. When I was at the track it only cutoff a couple times in 3rd gear towards the end of the track. Right now I have the boost turned down to 10-11 psi and so far no cutoff.

Yeah, ipd flashing is great, I talked to ipd for long time and they said that there chip is really versatile when it comes to tuning, we will see what happens when i put together my new motor though, I wonder how much the reflash can handle, they told me that they have had some people us the 18t turbo and get up to 19psi with a boost controller.
