Well after cutting over 20 mm of metal out I managed to get big brakes on the rear of a lowered volvo with 38mm offset rims and 225/35 /18s. The car is still lifted in this pic as I am playing with the e-brake now but I will post more/better pics tomorrow.

When lowered the wheel sits about .5" under the fender and flush with the body of the car. 38mm offset and a 15mm spacer have a way of doing that. The plactic wheel linners are still as I trimmed the lip and poprivited the liners.

Even with the flash you can still see how blued this rotor is. Thats after only 6k. In real life it looks almost black or like blued steel. mad.gif

A kidney for the kit and the install was two finger nails, a minor cut , a nasty bruise and the taste of brake fluid in my mouth.

Its performance not showroom. It makes the car handle better, not look better. BTW those are stock rear calipers not porsche ones. The porsche calipers dwarf the Volvo R ones.

Yeah the Porsche brake kit has a 4-piston caliper...and it said something about bringing the cars they use them on from 125mph to a dead stop in under 5 seconds. Better put ur seatbelts on, folks!

Looking good bud!

Hey Chuck, that S60R rear disc, is the actual disc in the middle of the "hub"? It looks like it in the picture. I've been wondering about the parking brake area as the R's disc didn't look like it was going to be deep enough.

That made no sense did it lol

Yeah it did. And yes the disk is right in the middle of the hat giving the caliper clearance from the rim..... in theory..... ok not even in theory unless you have whack jerk rims. BBS and Centerlines both needed a spacer. The stock 850 e-brake is still on the car and functions with the R rotor.

Maybe you got ripped. LOL these are rear but the R fronts are the same. In the picture below you can see all 4 pistons in the Volvo caliper

Wow Chuck THANKS! I've been considering doing S60R rear discs for my 242 as well, but figured I'd loose the handbrake but it looks like that this should not b e a problem!
