Alright, I have the opportunity to buy a anti-sway bar set from a T5-R for a good price. I have a '95 854 turbo and I haven't splurged to spend $300 or whatever it is for the IPD ones yet. I know the T5-R's are supposed to have a bit more of an agressive suspension setup. So my question is: Are the OEM anti-sway bars from the T5-R any stiffer than the ones on the regular turbo model? Oh yeah, and would an alignment be necessary after replacing these?

By sticky, I'm guessing you mean sticker. Which sticker and where is it?

No this sticky:
http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?showtopic=9606
It lists all the sway bar specs. Compare them to ipd's numbers.
Ignorance is bliss.

Ahh OK, it's late. Thanks guys, so 1 mm difference on the front and .5 mm difference on the rear. I'm guessing that this would not really be noticable?

I plan on getting the IPD's. It's just that I'm able to get this set for $20 and I thought it would be a nice upgrade for the time being.

Yes, you are supposed to get an alignment after you install the rear sway bar.

Unless someone is doing them for you for free I wouldn't recommend upgrading to the T5-R bar (as an interim solution anyway) just based on the PITA factor of the installation.

Do it once and do it right.

We at Vms are going to create Chromoly sway bars. Even i use the IPD sways right now( Good product) but they are super heavy and do not have memory. Chromoly can flex and return it its original shape unlike other materials. My VMS c70 is almost done so i have alot to do as far as tuning and just other stuff that i can do once the motor work is out of the way. Then i wana start doing some of our own VMS suspension products like Chromoly control arms ect.

definitely do it right the first time! You have to drop the engine subframe to get the front swaybar in and out which is a lot of work..... upgrade all the way the first time. i have IPDs and i love them!

Does anyone have any test data, or track times to justify IPD sway bars over R bars? This would be a much easier investment,if the results were justified with "objective" data instead of "subjective" data.

OK, yeah it does sound like a PITA. You've got me interested Rob. It sounds like the bars are still in the planning stages, correct? Do you have any approximate diamaters? A price range? If comparable in price to the IPD ones and they prove to be just as good or better, I'll be one of the first to order.

Yes still in planning stages, prices should be very comparble. We plan to use chromoly so they may end up a tad higher but weight alot less.

oh hey rob, i don't think i got a definitive answer..i'm sure it'll be a trade secret, but just thinking maybe it'd be reassuring u guys are on the right track. was wondering how u will be able to deal with the extra stress on the rear bar from the delta links...considering ipd went thru 5 iterations already...and counting...
