i had an exhaust shop install my est downpipe today. didn't hook up as flush as i was hoping. they had to weld another 4in section to make it work. plus i'm getting a rattle sound. going back tomorrow to get it looked at. runs nice though.

they wouldn't install the test pipe even though they did it for my friends s40. i should be able to do it myself. as i was paying an old friend of mine walked in the shop and informed me that his brother owned the shop. i wish i knew that before hand. maybe they'll hook up the test pipe now.

NIce, i am thinking of getting one of those as well. Did you notice a good Performance gain?? How about the sound, did it get a lil louder? How long did it take for the install?

it feels like it might have more power, but its been storming all day so i haven't had a chance to get on it. sounds a little deeper, but i have the race cat not the test pipe. an hour or so to install. i'm pretty pissed about the rattle though, hopefully they can fix it.

Yea that could be it, because the Est Downpipe is guarenteed to fit directly onto the stock turbo then connect to the stock exhuast or there Catback system (which i have). So for me that would be a perfect fit.

When i first bought my Bsr downpipe it did not connect directly to my superspring catbcak. I had to cut away pipe.

Mine fit with no problem whatsoever, so I assume that your SS cat back is the culprit. Good purchase.

In theory, it should all fit perfectly. If both components are direct stock replacements (keep the same mounting points and bolts as stock) than both should match eachother. If they added 4" and your tail pipe sticks out further, sounds like their mistake, however, I wouldn't imagine welding on 4 more inches would be the step you take in order to rush a job. If I were rushing, I'd just force it until all the holes lined up...

little bit of competitive jab there smile.gif

check to see if ur new downpipe and cat is hitting the little brace under the cat. my catback was not installed correctly initially and caused a rattle cuase it was touching the brace

got everything fixed today. the catback was sticking out to far, which aloud where a bend was to rub up against metal/screw. no more rattling, plus i got the test pipe installed. has a great deep tone, and feels faster with a quicker spool. i also had an air leak where the supersprint had a clamp to connect the two pieces.
