Does this order of upgrades seem right?
1) 2.5" exhaust from down pipe back, no cat, and 2 free flow boxes
: I have an auto box and was advised to have 2 boxes to keep the noise down
2) Unichip piggy back chip
3) K&N panel filter (already fitted)
My 2000 model C70 has done 57K miles
If this is OK what next, i have some spare cash burning a hole in my wallet

anyway..i think u'd be better off with a good ecu rather than a piggyback chip.. there are plenty of good tuners out there and prices range from fairly affordable to a bit more expensive. as for ur catless exhaust... it might be easier to get a race cat (since u said u have cash to burn) along with a good downpipe..that way u don't have to deal with the o2 sensors..

k/n filters don't do much.. just keep them well oiled.

thanks for the reply, but my problem is i live in south africa and the only chip i can find available is the unichip, as for the o2 sensor the exhaust guys (Power Flow) said they can refit it in the new system and it shold give no problems?

Heya fellow SA'er! Piggy pack chips are a bad idea... Rather go for an ECU upgrade/re-map from ChipLogic. ( www.chiplogic.co.za ) I don't know if they have a CapeTown branch. Otherwise, VolvoSA can do an ECU re-map, but you don't have your car for 6 weeks while they ship your chip up to europe.

Maybe it's possible for you to get your EMS to me in JHB, and I can take it to chip-logic for you?

Wow.. okay, 1st off.. the DASTEK Unichip has been discussed here before, and if you look, you should be able to find Doug's discussion of it. Reflashing the ECU is fine, but the DASTEK piggyback is actually a much better solution, both cost and performance wise, for these cars. Here in the US, the cost of the DASTEK is about the cost of a RICA chip; since they're from SA, I'd assume you've got a home-field advantage. The Unichip has been used on 850's and S/V/C 70s before, in multiple instances, and has proven itself to be the single most effective upgrade for the money. I'm working with Unichip North America to get the DASTEK in my car, and I'd definitely say that you're on the right track with yours.

Moving along, have you considered a 3" exhaust? You'll get much better gains at high boost with a bigger exhaust. I'm running a 3" turbo-back with 2 mufflers. Performs great, and it's not horribly loud.

Definitely do the exhaust first, before the chip. They can better tune the chip to your car that way, and you won't have as bad of a heat issue and the like.
