Just need a quick answer.
Does a synthetic oil ( or atf ) decrease friction? Or do they just resist breaking down from temperature and pressure more?
Oh, and are all dexron 3 ATFs the same?

The molecules of synthetic oil is smaller and uniformed, where as the regular dino-oil is larger and not uniformed meaning that they are different sizes, this is why many people that have switched to synthetic now have leaks, cuz the easier to flow, smaller moleculed synthtic oil.

Synthtic oil is more refinded then normal motor oil. So sort of like a higer grade. You will not notice a huge difference.

Yeah basically, if you start from mile 0 with synthetic, ur fine, but on high mileage cars with regular oil, switching to synthetic may bring more problems than benefits over regular oil. For a high mileage car I would just change the regular oil very often since it is so cheap anyways.

Ok what do you consider high mileage then? My car has about 68k on it right now and it is a 99. So would going over to Synthetic oil be helpful or not helpful?
