Need a quick answer on this one. I believe that the ECU in the 850 may be faulty. Will an ECU from a '98 S70 T5 run the 850?

Yes. Car in the sig. Not worried about how well it'll run it, just whether or not it'll run it at least while idling.

Yes but make absolutely sure the ac is off or you may never be able to use it again.

Hhhhmmm. I swapped the ECU's. It still doesn't start. The only code present on the 850 is 3-2-5 (Memory Failure). It turns over. I've got spark and fuel pressure.
Background: The car hasn't been started in about 3 1/2 weeks (yeah, bad idea, I know) and now it doesn't want to start. The gas in it can't be more than 6 weeks old at the VERY most, and is more likely about 5 weeks old. I've tried starting fluid and all. What gives?

You sure your battery is good ? Have your alternator and starter tested as well.

i'm almost positive the only way you would be able to use that ecu is if you have a 97 850
and you still wouldn't be able to use the a/c, or tracs iirc
