Hey all,

Just did my brakes. Zimmerman x-drilled, mintex/tmd red box on front, tmd on rear, stainless steel hoses in the front and a full brake fluid flush with ATE Super Blue.

Previously had some crap aftermarket brand which had decent wear left, but the rotors were real warped and worn down. Old brake fluid and cracked front brake hoses.

The difference is already amazing, have drizen about 150 miles on them. The pedal is still soft for about an inch of movement, then it's hard, progressive, and smooth braking. Suprisingly little dust during break in and seasoning.

Painted rotors, they look good, though one rear rotor the bottom of the hat has become like solid black for no apparent reason. Gonna spray some purple power or brakleen on it and see what happens.

Calipers will be painted in the future. Couldn't get the front brake hoses off myself ( the fittings were torn up like crazy on the pass. side front ), so I took it to my indie...and through much cursing he did a fine job.

So, here's what I paid and for what:

Cross Drilled Zimmermans, SS lines in the front,rubber hoses in the rear TMD/Mintex pads all the way around, Sil-Slide brake grease, Teflon Shims, Brakleen, PB Blaster, 1 liter of ATE Super Blue, and installation of front brake hoses and whole brake system flush:

$390 ( $80 for front brake hose installation and brake system flush )

I feel for the look, what was done, and the so far excellent performance and lack of any noise, it was totally worth it.

Just updating, cause I had a lot of questions in the past.

Yeah, I cleaned them with brakleen and then with rubbing alcohol before painting them. It only happened to one rear rotor.

The brakes feel sooo nice now....

So happy (;
