How important is the wheel weight and how much should a good wheel weight. I like the moda r6 but at 26 pounds is that alot for a wheel or for just an everyday driver

The lighter the wheel, the less unsprung weight, the better. If I remember correctly, the pegs are also about 26 lbs each. What size are these Moda's anyways?

Wheel weight is very important, key points are keeping the weight as close to the hub as possible, the further the weight is toward the rim, the greater the wheels moment of inertia. this makes the wheel "feel" even heavier on the car, in general lighter is usually better because as white850t5 mentioned the wheels weight is unsprung, another key factor is aerodynamics, and airflow to the brakes, a more open wheel is better on the flow to the brake caliper and more importantly the rotor. Finally there is no performance benefit to using a wheel over 18 inches in diameter, just no point unless you like the looks, actually the wheels over 18" hurt performance. 26lbs is really heavy for a 17" and not bad but certainly not good for a 18"
I might drive a 40 year old mans car but that means I can keep on tuning it for 18 more years before I need a new one!
