Ok, using TurboBrick's beautifuyl write up seen here: How To Install Some VS buddies and I went for it. I installed the Greddy Turbo Timer that I bought on ebay last week for 84 bucks. After looking at the Vent Install, I realized that it ws going to be a little more difficult to do that in my S70 than in the 850. So we decided to install it in the ashtray. After removing the whole ashtray, and doing a bit of dremel-ing to get it to fit, and cutting holes out of the rear of the tray for the harness to pass through, it fit in there quite well. So we put the ashtray assembly back together, then focued on the wiring. TBricks' install guide held true for the S70, the wiring was exactly the same. Splicey Splice, and boo-yah. Working Turbo timer. I'm not sure if it did this on the 850, but it leaves your radio on too. And yes! the door lock key fob works. You DON'T have to lock the doors using the switch on the drivers door. I leave the ashtray just a tad open so you can see the timer while you're driving, then shut off your car, close the ashtray, and you can't even tell it's there. so the doors dont lock? then if they dont lock why not just sit in the car for a few minutes and let the engine cool down instead of having the timer?

Don't worry about it man.. here's how it works.

1. turn car off.
2. put keys in your pocket
3. get out.
4. Hit door lock on key Fob
5. your car is still running..... (whatever time you set elapses)......car is no longer running.

have to got it hooked up to the hand brake so when the hand break is put down then the engine will kill, so that if someone breaks into the car they can not steal it ?

Didn't do it.... I rarely set the handbrake. I have the timer set for 30 seconds. Of course the time increases automatically if I've been driving hard.

Nah Lax, it was super easy. And Check this out.... MY KEY FOB WORKS... I got home last night, and thought, "what the hell, i'll give it a shot" ( i normally don't use the key fob to lock the doors) and BOOM... doors lock and unlock with the turbo timer working. So.... Hope this gives hope to all the 70 series guys out there!

wow, your key fob works huh...that's gotta be a plus....i'm hoping i get lucky and it somehow works on my 850!...no lock switch on my door!....dude, gotta see pics of the ashtray install too....Jesse is making my DIN panel for me...i'm sure that's gonna be tight...it'll hold my TT and my boost gauge....i guess i'll have to run some long wires from the DIN to under the driver side dash!....oh, let me know if your handbrake thing works....i use my handbrake at every park b/c i'm in LA and there are alot of hills!

Pras.. I'm workin on pics soon.. Been busy at work. I didn't install the handbrake thing.. I'm sure it would work tho. I didn't have to use more wires at all. The harness was long enough to stretch to the wires under the steering column.

Glad you got it installed and working. It's good to hear that the wiring is the same for the 70 series cars.

About the key fob working... Cool!! I think there is a slight difference in the alarm systems between the 850 series and the 70 series cars. I also think there is another wire that can be spliced so that the key fob will work while the car is still running, but honestly I haven't bothered with the Turbo Timer install since the mass air sensor died in my car a few days ago. I'll be getting a new MAF tomorrow hopefully and from there maybe I'll stop being lazy and actually do a detailed, photographed writeup.

yeah man, looking forward to that....also, you can get a MAF from Ebay for a great price...i see several of them at a time sometimes, for like less than $50...

Yeah.. sorry about that... didn't have the camera... all you're doing is cutting a hole in the back of the ashtray and the back of the ashtray braket so the harness can pass through them. From there take a left under the drivers side kickplate to the wiring loom you need to tap into. Find yer wires, find yer ground, and yer done.

hhahaha mine would be pretty easy considering I don't even have an ash tray (mine broke so I just pulled it out)...oh well...now I need to find the money
