Upgrade Just The Compressor To 18t Or 19t?

Hello, I am a total noob here, however, I am modding my 940T RWD to accept a TD04HL-16T found on various FWD volvos. I am not having trouble with this actually, it should mate up perfect to my manifold and 3" exhaust, but I may want more.
The current game plan is to port the exhaust housing some and mate up to a mod 3" down pipe and Cat.

I was wondering, if down the road I get tired of the 16T compressor, could I switch the compressor housing and wheel to the 18 or 19T wheel adn housing without touching the exhaust, or jsut porting the exhaust housing out a bit more maybe, or would I need the whole 18T turbo because everything including is different including the exhaust housing and wheel?
Also, did all 16Ts come with the larger 7cm2 exhaust housing with the large 2 adn 3/4" or 3" outlets? I read that somewhere that 850Rs got the smaller 6cm2 exhaust housing found on teh dinky LPT turbos and RWD turbos, I wish I had some sort of guide to what had the big exhaust housing and big outlet, anyone have a source on that? My 16T is from an S70 T5 with the big outlet and housing, but I don't really know what other turbos are common to FWD cars, and what car I should look for for a 18 or 19T.
The reason I might like to go bigger is that my car has a manual trans and turbo lag is much less annoying if you have the option of slipping the clutch or bumping down a gear. WIth the auto I might have wanted to keep a 15G or 16T.
I am sure this has been asked a gazillion times before, so if someone would be willing to post a link or two that is just as good as answering all my annoying questions. I tried the search feature, but I came up basically dry, but it seems like this stuff is fairly comon knowledge, I just kinda need a definative guide to all this stuff to improve my project.
Also, how much more can I really expect from my mod 16T setup over a 15G or over a 15G with the small 2 and 1/4" outlet?
Any help sorting out some of this FWD stuff would be appreciated. I am also getting more into the FWD stuff, but for now I am still driving a RWD.

For what it's worth, the only compressor-side mods I've heard of people doing on a 16T is the Super 60 wheel. I don't know much beyond that, and I havn't heard that the turbo on the Rs was different (housing wise), other than the 15g/16T US/Euro difference. Best of luck!!
