Hey guys
a couple of years ago I bought some 'super bright xenon white' light bulbs for my interior from autolumination.com, and since then they have been in my car. When I first got them I was not very impressed with the light output, but liked the soft white color it gave so I left them in there. now searching around that website again (that looks like its stuck in the mid 90's, lol), they seem to have a lot of NEW and IMPROVED technology and all these other terms and such.
So I just want to your guys opinion on it. What kind should I get? I know next to nothing about electronics and soldering LEDs and such otherwise I would do that... Im just looking for something that will pop in that will have the light output of OEM lights (or more), but in a softer white.
Also, whats the best one to get for the license plate to have the bright white LED look like the new Lexus' (I searched but couldnt find anything definitive)

I am not really wild about LED's. I did an LED install on my instrument cluster two years ago. Two of the large LED clusters have died in the last month. I decided to replace them with the standard incandescent bulbs. First of all, they are much cheaper. Second, I didn't have to sand them to try and get even illumination. Third, it didn't matter which way the bulbs were inserted into the fitting, the incandescent bulbs don't have a specific polarity and work either way. And forth, If I do tail light or Plate Light, I don't have to figure out resistors and such to avoid the bulb out warning light. So as my LED's die, I am going with more and incandescents.
That said, I did just replace my headlights with SharpHid 55watt 4300K bulbs. Those stay!! I didn't realize how much I wasn't seeing with halogen headlights!

i picked up a string of 50 or so white LED christmas lights for really cheap after christmas a year ago and then pulled out the LEDs and made them into an array for the interior lights in my V70. It was very WHITE and very BRIGHT, but i'm not doing it again for my S70 because it just wasnt worth the time and energy i put into it IMO.
You may be able to find a plug and play solution by now though. Look for bulbs that contain 1, 3 or 5 watt Luxeon LEDs. its the only way you will get the brightness you want, normal LEDs wont provide half the light the stock incans do.

If you search the site you will find that it already contains LED arrays, so no need to create your own.
I am currently a 36 LED array in each of the from map lights. It is bright.

i have essentially no cash flow (since i'm in school) and therefore am very cheap
and the 99 cent sale price of the LEDs i saw was very appealing. wouldnt have done the mod otherwise

Ba9s Flank LED bulbs. The led is aimed to the side, not from the tip. The led squares are really pricey and really bright.

I think I have some pictures in my garage page.
Those are the ones that I am using. I also installed one for the trunk light.
