For you? Never. For everyone else when I feel that the updates are stable enough to run on. Been testing for a few weeks and its still quirky. In the mean time this database is back to an unmolested state so when the time comes it can be ported easily.

As it has been stated before, we all "suffer" because of these advertisements. Hell, the non-supporting members see them all day every day and I can't remember the last time I read anyone bitch about it. Especially as much of an issue you're making out of it. I would much prefer a stable and secure forum with a few ads for a little longer than run crap, but my opinion doesn't matter. That's up to the owner and we know what he chose. You make it sound as thought you so innocently asked for a status update yet you actually said "Maybe less piture of our expensive retro toys and more workie and it would be done by now? "

Chuck's rolling back all the modifications to the board as he prepares for an upgrade to the forum. Just to give everyone a heads up, things might be a little weird. I know the first thing I noticed is that the "ad-free" skin isn't available. Might be 2-3 weeks until everything is straightened out.

So far I have about 40K racked up in student loans. Doing this all on my own. By the end of school I should be somewhere in the 100K bracket. Parents like to help out every now and then, because they have been through it as well and are financially secure enough to help out. My father has worked from the ground floor at the same company for 26 years and is now fortunate enough to be the managing partner of a very successful statewide accounting firm. Generally, good parents try give their kids an advantage over other people because they know what it's like to be a broke ass college student and want us to have it better than they did. They give me small things to help out and steer me on the right path. Absolutely no "want" is EVER given to me. Any person with half of an intellect could see that a car with a CPO warranty and 150K less miles is far more reliable and should last until a proper job is secured. But I digress...

Since my parents (and me for the past 5 years) are paying YOU to work, how bout you close the Volvospeed window on your computer and stop being a leech yourself and do actual work??

Reid is a good guy, so before you go trying to shit on his chest with your "hard earned cash", realize that he is in school with loans that he took out on his own. I am pretty sure that he has come to terms with having to pay those back when he graduates.

Honestly I am surprised Chuck hasn't banned you yet. The "Volvospeed Community" is a pretty good place to meet new people and learn about a common interest. There is no need to become a dickhead over something that someone is working on to fix. Most of us pay the supporting membership dues as well, and we are all going through the same "ad" shit. He received a 2 day suspension, basically for his final post being meaningless and solely to insult. I'm not big on the banhammer for calling names, but he didn't start out on a good foot and kept digging that hole deeper. Everybody try not to repeat his mistakes mmkay?

We know, the advertisements suck. The moderators get to see them as well. Hell I'm a tab whore on a computer I really should upgrade from. So all these advertisements get things a bit sluggish. I understand its annoying, and thankfully it seems most people do. Besides, as I stated before, non supporting members see ad's 24/7/365, and so do other forums. Some have just gotten used to the comfort of ad-free.

If you have any knowledge about computers, you understand shit like this isn't "point, click, boom, done". It can be extremely tedious and time consuming. Anyway, hopefully within the week we'll be seeing everything finished up.
