Well I figured out why I am leaking gas around my gas tank...its not the fill neck like i thought it ends up its the in tank pump, its leaking at the outlet hose. Along wtih that, its starting to buzz. With the rising rate fuel pressure regulator I think it would be a decent investment to get a high flow/high pressure pump and replace the old one for a little more reliability of fuel...

I agree. I've been wanting to replace mine too.

Please give details on which pump you end up getting and how the install goes. I've heard lots of good things about the Walbro 255 lph intank pump. I just don't know exactly which one to get.

i think walbro 255 will cost you about $125, based on Joseph's post....i'm sure a search will hook you up with that, or wait for Rob to get the pn!

oh, and my tank leaks gas all over the place, and it's not a fp issue cuz it was doing it b/f i installed the new pump....Jesse said that this was an issue on someone's car that he knows, but is there a gasket or something in the neck that goes from the pumping inlet down to the gas tank...i think i'm losing over a gallon esp at high pressure, and even when i park the car after fillup, i see gas dripping!

It's always better to upgrade, and now you don't have to worry about it later if you upgrade turbo, etc. I also have the 255 Walboro Pump, still waiting to install that shiznit. laugh.gif

you know the Walbro will make you run richer, thus poorer gas mileage

I'm so concerned....I'm already running an RRFPR, I can just the rate back a little bit. Fuel mileage is far from a concern, I get ~15ish now, and that still beats the 14 in my suburban daily driver.

Why?

If you do not change the FPR nothing is going to change..
It just that you doubled the capacity of a stock ~400 hp pump..
You'll be heating up the return line.. laugh.gif

Johann, i take it walbro makes a direct replacement for the bosch pumps because everything fit for me. The only thing was you needed to use something to press the pump into the sending unit assembly. A tad longer line and the connection pluged right in. Other than that i dont see anything else needed to be done back there at the moment. You said there is a FPR on the my car correct?
