Ok, so I have had the RICA upgraded chip in my car for a few weeks now, and have been fairly pleased with it. The next step is free-flow exhaust system. So, I found a local shop that will do a full 3" system for $600 for everything including a Magnaflow cat, 3" press bent piping, and a Borla muffler biggrin.gif And yes, O2 sensor/s will be carried over too.

I have to call them either tomorrow or Thursday and tell them exactly what I want so that they can order it and have it ready for Saturday (if I do it this weekend).

So I ask you this: Is there any specific Magnaflow cat or Borla muffler that I should go with? (remember, 3" through and through)

I have not been to the shop, but I talked to the guy at Swedish Car Day the other week and saw his custom 940 turbo (they use that as a test car for products smile.gif) Anything else I am forgetting or that I should ask about?

Thanks guys!

P.S. Eventually I'll get to a dyno rolleyes.gif...maybe after Christmas when I have some extra money

The magnaflow cat is all good. If I were you, I would go with a different muffler though. If memory serves correct, I remember Doug saying something about certain mufflers not working good on turbo'd cars. I think it was the Borla he was talking about. I've got a Magnaflow cat with 3" JT downpipe, 2.5" custom mandrel exhaust, with an Aeroturbine 2540i muffler on it. It sounds WICKED. You'll be amazed at how differently your car acts with the combo of the turbo-back and the chip.

Actually you are probably trying to refer to flowmaster. They use a chambered design in their mufflers. Borla makes good straight through mufflers.

I wish I could afford a Borla. I have a dynomax ultraflow....too bad the packing wears out of them after a while. Mine should last a while its at the very tail which will help. The borla's flow like hell and have a 1million mile warranty.

Magnaflow is what you want- I love mine !

You'll want the oval universal muffler ( I have steel/ you can go with stainless- but why ?). Straight in and straight out.

The single Magnaflow will be mounted at the rear of the car.

Beautiful deep sound smile.gif

i gotta see this exhaust setup...get some pics up once it's done!...oh, and you can go Magnaflow OBDII high flow cat 3" on ebay for about $60 shipped, and you can get a Magnaflow pass through oval 3" for about $100, but that will require searching...i think it is 14" long, and can go at the end of the pipe and be the tip!

Yep, sure is.

That being said, $600 isn't a good price for a crush-bent system. You could purchase the JT turbo-back system for around the same price and it is mandrel bent.

Unless the piping you are getting is SS, then it makes the price a little bit more reasonable.

I would def look arround for a mandrel system instead. People have complained about crush bent stuff before.

Hey, speaking of exhaust pics, did you see the ones I posted? (I know we talked about them, but don't remember if you actaully saw them once posted).
