Turbo Lag

I have put my cylinder head back on with a valve job, pocket port, green injectors and glt cams. It is so slow down low under 3000 rpms. It won't get out of it's own way. I didn't take a lot of meat off the head more of contouring the runners.
This is not tuned yet. But i don't know how much the tuning will do for the bottom end. Once it gets to 3500 it takes off like a rocket. Just thought I would get anyones opinion on it. I have an 18T with 3" down pipe. I get 5 psi at 3000 and 10 at 4000 rpms. Thank you to anyone that respopnds.

so no reply from anyone huh. Nobody has a 18T or 19T on there cars. Anybody have an opinion????

have you checked for boost leaks? That's extremely low boost for the RPM. I have a 19T and I see 12-15 psi by 3500rpm, 18-21 @ 4500.

If you don't have any boost leaks, your turbo could be damaged (and thus not able to spin up easily / quickly).

I'd check your intercooler hoses for holes (especially the hose that connects to the throttle body.)

i have turbo lag before 3000 rpms with my stock turbo, i mean these cars dont hadle alot of boost before that. but im sorry i cant be more helpful, im sure you probably know that since you have the 18t and all.

The guy from South Africa with the real S70 R has a 18T on his car... I haven't seen him around in a couple days tho...

do you have a chip ?

maybe GLT cams are made for upper RPM

my car is sluggish on the bottom because of the 4* of retard timing from the cam gears and the high stall converter

If you still have stock chip then thats definately a problem, but if you dont, im pretty sure that the new injectors may play a part as well.

So did I miss something. Am I not aloud to post more than one forum. Just thought I would get as much info as I could. I know the chip is going to make a big difference. I just wanted to know if anyone had had experience with this. I know there will be lag I just didn't know if mine is to much. I had my own opinion about the situation I just wanted to know if I was on the right track. I have to drive it like it is until unichip could fit me in.Newbie I am to the volvo scene.

I just meant that with those mods and a stock ECU, you should know that it's not going to run nearly was well as it should be.

wow i'm impressed it even runs. the bosch system is quite smart, apparently. However, i would highly reccommend against thrashing the car until you get it tuned by someone who knows what he/she is doing. Changing to completely different cams and a bigger turbo (although it is only running relatively low boost) can cause some interesting problems (ie. VERY lean conditions) so i'd say just take it easy on the car and let the bosch work its magic until you can get setup with the piggyback.

you sure you clocked the cams correctly? I know from the b6304's, the cams good turn a few degrees while the retaining bolts were loose... make sure you arent running rediculously advanced. then agian, if the cams are that much differnt thna the HPT cams, then you could just be dealing with maps for a motor thats not in the car
