you should stage 0 it before putting it in, to avoid busted vac lines and too much boost pressure...that's about it....btw, stage 0 includes your dist/plugs/rotor, etc....definitely do that before even attempting to use your car with the chip in....also, your next step should be the exhaust..i'm working on that one right now!

Sorry to go OT, but does any one know the best/cheapest place to go to for silicon vacuum hose? I've heard hosetechniques.com is good, just looking for a good price on some red stuff.

1. Not too hard. Depends if it's Mechanical or Electronic. And Defi makes the best gauges.

2. Downpipe is 2.5", Cat-back is 2.25"

Oliver is a great guy... he helped answer any concerns, and works with you.

The Speedtuning chip has performed well, and impressed my volvo mechanic who had driven Ipd upgraded 850s and the new AWD XC70. He took my car out for a drive and got a HUGE smile on his face tongue.gif

He likes the ipd upgraded cars too, but he was amazed at the torque that causes a lot more wheelspin than the Ipd tongue.gif Not that it is a good thing... but still. Other than the catback, there really isnt much else in terms of big performance upgrades..

MSD 6A ignition, Magnecor wires, Optima Red 75/35, new cap/rotor..see nothing much

and a PAPER filter tongue.gif

Im sure you'll be very satisfied as long as you dont have any boost leaks. smile.gif If you do, you will go bald...

A boost gauge is a MUST for any car not running stock boost. I would get one and intstall it...now. Any gauge will be fine, right now im using a FAZE one I picked up for 40 bucks (came with all the lines and fittings, I was very impressed.). Autometer and VDO are both good, economical choices. DEFI seems to be the best if thats what your looking for.

Theres good instructions on volvospeed to hook one up. Simple installation: Run a line from the gauge to the vaccum tree.

yeah, boost gauge....(Sorry Kev, forgot to add that one in there if you're reading this)...

and you can contact oliver at ST to get chipped, or go to Ebay and buy and pay for one of his auctions...great guy, and he'll answer all your questions

hosetechniques.com is the way to go with silicone...the other cheaper stuff collapses under vacuum and busts with boost...also can melt....the HT stuff doesn't do any of that unless you're running too much boost .....cough Joseph cough! tongue.gif

A boost gauge is great but if you are on a budget, you can mark up your existing factory boost gauge. Get a bike pump, a pressure gauge and a T. Pump up the gauge hose line to various pressures (10, 12, 14, 16, etc) and mark the face(or just see where it is). That should work pretty well to give you an idea of where your boost is.

marking up your factory boost gauge? How would you plan on doing so? Make marks on the dash, etc. For $43.95 it is worth it to get a boost gauge http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?...Ntt=boost+gauge

It's not too bad to remove the instrument cluster, expose the face and mark it up. At the least just look at the end of the Turbo gauge "line" and note the pressure. Mine's 15 psi so I know when I'm above or below that. I also know where 17 psi is as well.

For a new gauge, you still have to run a vacuum line to the new gauge and figure out how to mount it. Doesn't a gauge pod cost a few buck as well? Closing in on $100 for a gauge setup!
