i have a weapon r with a custom heat shield right now, and i'm thinking of going back to the airbox with a K&N for a more stock look....
is that safe with an ST chip and my future 3" turboback exhaust?

ive heard that the stock setup is actually better then an open cone filter cause it draws in more cold air then a cone filter under the hood.

I don't know why I want a more stock look...maybe cuz i havent done anything to the engine lately, so I just need a change....i'll switch off every 9 months or something just so i'm satisfied with seeing something different!...
i'm gonna go with K&N for a while now!
thanks fellas

I got a paper filter from purolator... st chip and a pseudo 3" cat back..
not a single problem... the K&N did give me a little better mileage though...

i have BSR Optiflow. with stock cold air intake and "early" non snow-splash shield.
i rewired my outside temp beneath the cone.
except for stop and go traffic intake temp is 5-6 centigrades warmer than outside temps.
that means the BSR optiflow works very well.
