it says it's not good for CA residents, but I figure the entire exhaust is illegal, so would this work on my 850 in CA and not set off an CEL as long as it is OBD2?

do i need air tube or no air tube....if i want a CA compliant OBD2 cat, then it's like $200-300....ridiculous price...oh, and will i need the O2 bung built into it?

thanks for the help fellas,
-Pras-

You can get a 3" Carsound (Magnaflow) Cat for around $100 and they are CA legal. no need for a air tube.

This may be the same Cat. http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/Pro...491&prmenbr=361

http://www.car-sound.com/universal/430.htm

here's the link for the info on the cat i'm referring to

http://www.performanceintl.com/shop/detail...wcat&desc=43034

and here is a roundabout price on it....

could i just go with the one on Jegs or one from Ebay in the same series?....and if I need a O2 before the cat and after the cat, can they just build that onto my piping, or do I need the 2 O2 bungs on the actual converter?

i am not paying $200 for a cat...

Im going through the same thing pras. I even had a shop tell me that there was no way theyd put a high flow cat on a 96 850 because its illegal. stuff. Thats all I get here in LA. Let me know where you get yours.

go to the ghetto, and they'll do anything you want...i went to a couple of places in Inglewood....as long as you bring the cat in, they will do it for you...no one will "provide" the cat for you....buy one at JEGS or Ebay, and take it in when you want everything welded up, and they will install it....make sure you keep your O2's in there, and should be fine i suspect....I think I can just go with a OBD2 HF cat, that is not CA compatible, but none the less OBD2, and as long as there is no CEL, I should be okay...risky, but I'll take the risk...let's just say I know a guy...When I smog end of Jan, and if I pass with this "guy I know", i'll ask if I can get him some more business...i'm sure he won't mind!

don't go to san pedro muffler...they'll charge you $200 just to weld it up...i went there twice already...they suck, even though they build great exhausts
