for my 01 S60 LPT
I ordered only for the front end of my car because my rear rotors & pads were still in very good condition, and it would have been pretty much just for the looks to add the rear pads and rotors considering I don't do a lot of autox.
I ordered the Hawk HPS pads and the premium series drilled & slotted rotors.
Pros:
- price is UNDENIABLE! They offer a great product at -seriously- like 1/2 the price of the competition
- rotors were already painted (premium series) which was a nice surprise
- no brake squeal, quick burn-in time, good braking improvement
- great customer service
Cons:
- none yet, I will post updates if issues arise (I've had only about 1 1/2 months)
The pads shipped separately from the rotors because they come straight from Hawk, not from R1. Rotors came first then pads. They machine each person's rotors before sending them out to you, which is nice knowing you're not just getting something right off the shelf. The packaging was legit. As far as braking power, I have noticed a slight increase in initial bite (in my opinion due more to the pads then the rotors), but were I've really noticed the difference is in hard braking. When I used to slam on the brakes (with OEM pads/rotors) I felt a decent initial bite but no increase in braking force during hard braking. With the R1 rotors and Hawk pads I get about the same initial bite, but in hard braking I can really notice the brakes grip.
