i put the samco as far over the above-engine tube as i could.
hopefully will get a another 0.000000x degrees cooler air. wink.gif
silicon is a very good isolator.

i had my oilcooler relocated to the middle.
the shiny new intercooler is made by kylarjonsson (supplier of Auto-Tech i heard.)

and you can see how my strut brace got twisted from racing. not the gap between plate and strut dome on passenger side.....

but why put the oil cooler right in front of the intercooler? isn't that like crazy heat soak?

Whats the big orange tube? air to cool turbo?

na, i dont think its THAT bad at higher speeds.
still my main problem is hi engine temps. i easily get to 135 degrees when racing.

and since this a 19row Oilcooler, over one foot wide (330mm) with almost have a liter (0.1 gallon) contence i cant just put it some place else easily.
and if i mount too low it gets dangerous (curbs, stones, etc.)

Looks great. I wouldn't worry about the oil cooler blocking ANY air flow to the intercooler.

I dont believe he wrapped it around anything, that IS the pipe...

The big orange thing is only an air intake directed at the turbo.

if this is true (which I'm pretty certain it is), does he have anytype of filter on it? isn't he worried about water getting pushed through there and landing on the hot turbo which can crack it?

I don't think that is the compressor inlet duct, but simply a duct to direct air over the motor and down to help cool to the turbo. And getting water in that tube wouldn't crack the turbine housing.

no I know it just routes air to the turbo, but say, if water got through that pipe and then was directed towards the super-hot turbo, couldn't it crack it? I mean, when I was working on my car, a leaf fell down on the turbo, I didn't notice it until I got to the gas station and smelled leaves burning...opened the hood to see that the leaf was on fire....

I think even in hard rain there is little chance of any water to reach the turbo to be honest

You guys, If you are really worried about cooling your engine down get serious and buy this: http://www.designengineering.com

look for the Cry 02 system, this makes more sense then just air.

About the air tube, dont go too big. I tried a 4 inch air tube setup based on volflos design, but it ended up putting pressure on the upper radiator hose when i closed the hood. This cause a lower hose to burst due to the increased pressure.

About the CRY02, I have tried the cryogenic air intake with no positive results. I actually lost horsepower on the dyno while using it. I am planning to use the intercooler sprayer in the near future.

How did you set it up thought???

the airintake doesnt work well on our cars, i would use the fuel or intercooler spray setup.
