ok well i have been sent off to military school so i havnt been able to get on but i am home for the weekend and i just got my supersprint exhaust i took off the can and the custom catback so its alot smoother and the bends are alot better but i want to complete stage 1 so i want a good intake setup now i was thinking about the BMC CDA but for the price close to 400 dollars is it worth it?? and i dont know if the EST intake for the c70 is for me7 motors too cuz i got the 01 c70 hpt. and since i have been gone i dont know if there are anymore intakes that have come up that i dont know about like a full steel/metal or whatever intake like all kinds of honda and other ricers have available for them like AEM, Injen etc..but before i chip my car with speedtuning around christmas time i want to get a nice effective intake that i can rely on is there any out there or for those who have my car what kind of setup do you have? and early december i will have the Koni adj. and h&rs all around. all i need to know is what kind of intake setup i should get?

save your money and just use a good filter....like a k&n panel. i've heard people are happy with the bmc cda....but is it worth that much?

yeh my thoughts exactly but like for the EST priced at like 150 i thought maybe it would add a little nice look to my engine as well as help out a little but i saw this thing in a magazine that had all kinds of 3" bent pipes and the silicon pipes i was thinking about trying to peice together my own intake but i dont think its worth the horsepower gains to go to that much trouble but if my car needs to breath i would guess i would have to do something but considering the stock intake setup is pretty good i might just leave it but a nice little intake setup would look good under the hood.

I like the EST intakes looks. I am thinking of getting one for my 99 S70 awd. Just not sure if it will work on my car. Anyone know if it will? It should work.

Yes, it will fit your car and whenever somethings says that it will fit a c70, it will fit your car. Also if you are intended on seriously getting a good performing intake setup, making your own custom can be one of the best performing and most self rewarding moves you can make. If you have the money to spend on the CDA then it is up to your discretion. The CDA is surely one of the most refined looking and performing systems. I like many others have the EST and I can tell you that I love it, I will warn you it does have its downsides such as the direct exposure to under the hood temperatures which you can only avoid with setups such as the CDA and any custom setup that you choose to do. One other thing that I noticed is that it gets dirty really quick, but that is expected when you drive in not perfect conditions and aggressively, but remember that as long as you are seeing dirt on your filter hard telling what else it is sucking in like hot air from under the hood.

I think the best...woood be to cut into the fender area where u can extract cold air, away from the engine bay, with cone. since im not as mechanically inclined as say, Doug, I went ahead w/ the BMC CDA. it seems like the best solution for me.

ME7 cars...check out gdogg's BMC CDA set up...

cone in the fender....talk to doug....

I think i might just go ahead and get the BMC CDA. The only questions i have with that is will I have to relocate my battery and where do I go to order the correct system. I looked at the BMC CDA site and all I could find was just the filter for my car, not the intake piping, so Gregg indulge me on where you purchased your system from. I am going to get all the high quality parts for my car not the cheap stuff. Also this is off-topic on the intake setup but does Samco make intercooler plumbing for my car? I know that they do for the 850's, but if they do I am interested in that because the way I have my TurboXs RFL installed is a little sloppy. I had to connect a little peice of steel piping to put it on because it would stay in the plastic piping. I want it to look better. I also need a block off plate but I don't know how to install that. I guess some local Volvo shop could help me with that.

Wow, all I can say is wow.

I just reinstalled my K&N inverted cone filter on my new S70 awd. The sound is so great. I love it. Now I just want to make a heat shield and use some metal piping to make it look nicer.

Again, there is no need to spend 200+ dollars on an intake when u can make your own for 20-30 dollars.

make your own, for $200 dollars you can make a full intake system like mine.
the piping and everthing, not just the filter, dont get me wrong CDA is a great system and I am going to get it later on, but i would first get rid of volvo's crappy piping.

Ok I got a question. I want to replace the peice of plastic that goes from the back of the MAF to, to behonest I don't know where it connects. Probably the TB. I want to replace it with some 3" pipe.

Now my question is is this fesable? I don't know much about turboed car, and for that matter my 99 S70 awd.

Just seeing if anyone knows where it really connects to in my car. Anyone?

If u have a turbo'd car, then it goes

Air Filter > MAF > Turbo > Intercooler > Throttle body

A n/a car

Air Filter > MAF > Throttle Body
