Ive just been wondering what kind of gas everyone uses in their cars. Volvo says that we should use the expensive stuff but do we have to? Is it worth it?

If I'm just gonna waste my gas drvin around the city... the cheapest gas I can find. If I'm goin anywhere on the freeway... outside of the city... then I'll put in the expensive stuff.

87 Octane, wow i thought it is only for old toyotas and hondas, didnt know you can put this octane into European car.

Used 87 for every tank of my old Jetta. Europeans drink 87 test too...

so far nothing wrong with it, i dont use it that often, only when i am at the track, will be even better once i get Terrys motor.

93. The highest I've found at any regular gas station around here is 101, but it costs an arm and a leg and probably isn't really worth it since the car isn't tuned for it (or at least that's what I tell myself tongue.gif).

93 octane with a bottle of Lucas Octane Booster in every tank, in every car. I <3 $40 fillups.

Is that RON, MON or PON? Which code do you guys use there?

We use RON down here. I usually fill up with 98RON (90MON, 94PON), which is 10c more expensive than the standard 91/92RON (85MON, 88PON), and the highest grade we can get in Australia. Also, I occasionally use 95RON (87MON, 91PON), which is the handbook recommendation.
