So I was at the shop that works on my fleet, when the owner introduced me to the Bosch rep. We got to talking and before he left he gave me his card. I got tired of all the different info I was getting concerning volvo injectors so I emailed him yesterday and aske for information on the 5 most used OE volvo injectors. Here is the info he sent me.

Injector...Bosch part #......flow rate at 3 bar

orange...0-280-155-831......315cc
red-.......0-280-155-759......315cc
whites-...0-280-155-766......347cc
blues- 0-280-155-830.......347cc
greens- 0-280-155-968.......412cc

One thing that stands out is that Volvo OE whites and Volvo OE blues flow exactly the same. The only difference is the whites operate at 16 ohm resistance and the blues operate at 12 ohm resistance. I am not sure where the "blues flow 395cc" rumor came from but just wanted all to know that this is not the case.

if I go up to a 16t with R manifold and ECU upgrade should I move up to white/blue injectors or stay with my orange?

It wouldn't hurt. Could always get the ECU tuned to the injectors, so then you'd get better use out of them.

If that is true - that explains why mine is still lean - my tune is for 468cc - so I will need at least 4bar to bring them up - at 3.5bar they would still only be flowing around 440, not the 480 I'm calculating at now.

I'm not convinced though, five-o motors says they flow test greens @ 450cc/3bar....

I want more than 14.5 or 15psi on an IPD tune cause I run 12psi now

how could I get 17psi out of an IPD tune?

It isn't a secret that P2 injector flow ratings are at 3.8 bar rail pressure. The Blue and Green are P2 injectors, maybe better said ME7 injectors, because these models all use 3.8 bar rail pressure.

Blue injectors on my Red 850 were cleaned and tested at 3 bar at 380 CC.

I was told that greens were originally produced for FMS and called 42lb ford injectors. Ford rates their injectors at 40lbs of fuel pressure (2.75) bar. That is where the discrepency lies on Greens as bosch based the flow on Ford Motorsport numbers. The blues and whites however were not rated by ford. Blues flow what white do.;(

Whites will flow similarly.

Hmm there seems to be some discrepancy on the Green flow rates. I found this tidbit of info from www.fiveomotorsport.com (where I bought my green injectors)

"Actual bench flow-test indicates 42.9lbs/hr (450cc) at 3 bar"
1995 850 Turbo | Hahn Racecraft Td05-Super 16g Turbo | 3" turboback exhaust | Water/ Methanol Injection | Custom FMIC | NA Cams | HKS SSQV BOV | Civinco Piggyback EMS | Walbro 255 LPH Fuel Pump | Innovate LM-1 A/F Meter | Koni Coilovers | QBM Endlinks | IPD Sway Bars | Profec B EBC | Bi-xenon Projector Retrofit | Matte Red Paint Finish.

...Sold for something American and RWD.

Maybe this can make a difference "All flow rates listed were performed on the best industry standard equipment at 3 bars of atmosphereic pressure* (43.5 psi), using Hetane as the flowing agent."
