Volvos are obviously known for not being to fast off the line due to fwd, wheel spin etc etc... But is there any way to increase throttle response, turbo lag and gaining some more power at the lower rpms?

There's a sticky for that: http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?showtopic=86240

But I think you're looking for a Manual Boost Controller MBC... actually, read up on getting an electronic one.

Run a sequential turbo setup, with one really small turbo that can be fully spooled by like 1200rpm, provide enough flow to spool up a second, larger turbo by around 3000rpm that will hold to redline.

you think you have lag with a stock turbo, anything bigger then the td04 series and then your really thinking of getting some more power at the lower rpms . . . with stock turbo that thing spoools really quick

you can change cam timing for a tad more lower end, but a boost controller on, or get a smaller turbo that spools faster laugh.gif

Torque brake.

3" DP, good tune up, premium gas, open exhaust and mbc have all helped my car. there is significant turbo lag regardless.

I really don't think you are experiencing much for 'turbo lag' if your car is running up to par.
I think the answer is simply a lower compression engine compared to most people's NA's.

For sure...a custome positive-displacement supercharger setup would be awesome for low-end, too! On top of that, throw in a stroker kit and the car wil fly!

Do it!!
