Thanks to Aaron (Ajhehr) for his suggestions & caliper information!

I mocked up a bracket using 1/2" stock & the stock caliper slider.. then had these made at the local machine shop

Parts List

996 351 425 LR Caliper
996 351 426 RR Caliper

996 352 949 03 pads

999 073 402 01 bolt x4

Posted Image

this is what needs removing - about a 1/4" top, bottom, and caliper mating surface

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Fit brackets
grind forward edge

Posted Image

check with straight edge

other side.... Original caliper bolts have to be shaved flush or they hit the inside of the rotor eBrake hub

Posted Image

No way to use stock backing plate - the offset on the S60R rotor is slightly deeper on the inside - not matter how I trimmed it, it still hit somewhere, so I just cut out the eBrake retaining clip backing plates..

Posted Image

The eBrake hub ends up so close to the spindle, it's unlikely any more water/debris will end up back there than would with a full backplate

derusted & painted

Driver's side -

Posted Image

Pass... (shims are needed for the front BBK spacing - the rear's clear without them)

Posted Image

caliper/wheel clearance

Posted Image

Posted Image

Fills the 18" wheel much more nicely

Posted Image

Now, I just have to get them bedded

Very nice!

I picked a pretty circuitous route and arguably cheated slightly, but I'm going to get there

My roommate has an AMG ML...the caliper comes within less than 2mm of the spokes on his 19's.

Nice fab work!

I have the old pads that came with the calipers - I'll take a pic tomorrow. These pads will probably last 60K laugh.gif

Very clean install! Lucky for you the calipers gave enough clearance since thy are considerable bulkier compared to "993" calipers.

The 996 front calipers do not fit 18" Pegs without using a spacers. wink.gif
