Bbk Calipers - What Will Fit

Recommended Posts

Yup.

Clears 17x8 pegs (38 offset) - don't know about other rims

The brackets for the 993TT calipers works with the 996TT calipers for the fronts?

I can confirm that 996 calibers (non TT) will fit on the front. Also Porsche Cayenne (957) rear calipers fits fine on the rear.

I also managed to fit front Porsche cayenne calipers, but only with (extensive) modification of the calipers, so you can't call it a 'direct fit'.

PM Johann, he tried it before, i thought a spacer was required.

We need someone to measure the caliper mount hole offset relative to the existing ears, and the longitudinal spacing of the caliper mounts.

The 996 are 130mm, and about 2mm from mount point to offset mount hole center (I added a 1/8 [.125"] spacer between the bracket & mount ears in the rear install)

I was told last night, that the 993 guys use the 996TT calipers as an upgrade, and the 996TT calipers bolt right on the 993! So i would think the adapter brackets that are used for our cars to bolt on the 993TT calipers would work with the 996TT?? Now that being said, Johann PM'd me and said they would not work as there a wider caliper and would need a wider bracket. I now there a few mm wider but i have 5mm in the front right now, so clearence with the pegs +5mm spacer will clear... its just the bracket issue!

Hello, I somewhere here that the Volvo S60R calipers (just the front ones i think) can't be adapted to Volvo S70 cars, can anyone explain me why?

One more thing, which one has the best performance, S60R calipers or 993TT calipers? (both Brembo i think)

Thanks for your time!

I assume you mean fitting to a 98-00 S70. On an 01-, it's bolt on. so, S60R calipers mount the same way as 98-00, and I don't believe a spacer can be made since it's so similar/close in placement. Chilled Man could tell you, since he's tried & has plenty of R caliper sets.

Porsche calipers all use the right angle offset, which makes it easy enough to fabricate brackets.

Don't know the piston size in R calipers. I think the 993TT calipers may have larger pistons. Perhaps some who has measured them can chime in.

Just measured a Front R caliper I have sitting in the garage...I measure 35mm and 40mm, but I don't have a caliper handy so those numbers may be off by a millimeter or two...

Can't seem to find the original specs for the pistons...

Regardless, they are smaller than the 36mm/44mm of the 993TT/928GTS pistons...

Is there any kit, that will fit on PEGASUS replicas, without spacers?Because the wheels are already too much outside.

I have a wilwood kit I sell that will but not selling any others right now till I get the other two people that have them 100% satisfied.

After that I will think about selling others .

I've tested the replicas pegasus with normal 996 front calipers and they fit. But with very little clearance.
