this is funny that you've encountered this, b/c i ran over something which disconnected that covering as well, just last week...so you'd want to go to the dealer to order the covering, nd the nuts, which are barrel nuts, part #9141192, and the rings (9141191).
The nuts slide into the rings which then can be screwed into place while you are holding the covering up.
Yes these nuts have a screw head on them. W/o the rings you cant support the covering/guard.
I dont know the covering part # b/c i didnt need it but Im sure your parts ppl can find it if you giv'em the other two parts numbers. The nuts nd rings should come to 11 bucks.
Thanks for the advice. Indeed the cover needed the parts you mention. I got everything used and it worked like a charm.
My mechanic gave me an appointment for an oil change two days ago, and when I got there he had two or three other cars, with serious problems, and told me he didn't have time to change my oil. So, to compensate because he couldn't change my oil as scheduled, he gave me the oil filter (MANN), plug gasket, oil cap gasket, and the fuel lines cover with everything necessary to install it myself (he owns a Volvo-only junk yard), all for free, so I was a happy camper

. Again, thanks for the input.
