I keep failing my emissions simply because my OBDII is unreadable. I have no CEL on but I have my car RICA tuned and with a manual swap. I have to pass my emissions otherwise I'll keep paying $15 monthly - and I'm leaving MD soon. How do I fix this? Do I borrow an ECU just to pass the emissions OR.......Please help, I'm stuck. I searched, but I'll keep searching. Thanks.

'97 850R-manual....3" full exhaust, RICA, IPD bars, H&Rs, Koni-Y, OMP brace, FMIC, JVC AR8500+ Infinitys, :)

You can use a stock AUTO ecu that is correct for your car, IE egr or not etc..
Reset the Cel you will get for the missing Tcu just before you get there, Most techs, will only try to read codes, not freeze data or duty cycle.
FYI,
for those who do not have a tuned ecu and or going to do m56 swap,BSR has a obd2 manual map, 305hp/320trqr
450$
For 95< you dont have to worry about this, and if you have a cel for missing tcu because you dont have a manual map, you can reset it with the obd1 or wire the Cel to oil pressure

If you reset your ECU right before you smog you may not pass the readiness codes check, but I'm going to assume that this varies by state. If you have a manual swap, put everything back; get a factory ECU, the TCU, PNP, and S1 and S2 solenoids (you can actually jumper these with a resistor). Plug those all in, you need the TCU to prevent a CEL, like noted above, and you need the PNP to stop the CEL being triggered by the TCU.
As far as I know most manual ECU maps were derived off of the euro-spec manual ECU's which do not have OBD-II functionality. When he means by socketed he means is the ecu memory module socketed onto the board.
