So I went up to mtl to celebrate the st-jean battiste with my gf's buddys... I stoped by a few checkpoints I've been meaning to see for a while now...

So as I thought, you can go on the Gille Villeneuve circuit without a problem, but there are tons of pedestrians, bikers and rollerbladers, and the limit is 30km/h, still an awesome feeling to do a few slow laps on such a historic F1 circuit...

Lot's of diffrent traffic on the track...

Then I stoped by Mirabel where a few track prepped bimmers were doing some shakedown laps for this week-ends grand prix... for those of you who don't know, ICAR is a new state of the art lapping club which has been utilising a part of the Mirabel airport since the construction of a new Internatinal airport in Montreal, it's also composed of a kart track and quarter mile, very sick installations.

Was a great opportunity since I was passing by anyway, Can't wait to have the chance to lap at ICAR!

Sad that the Montreal circuit is not longer on the F1 calendar.

Nice pictures though ;)

What not "Wall of Champions"? :P I love that track for F-1, I was there in '07 when Kubicia wrecked in the hairpin, it was right in front of me! :o It may be back next year, now that the FOTA and FIA aren't splitting. :) The problem for '09 was the Montreal Gov. didn't pony up enough $$$ to Bernie and now the Canadian Gov. is helping out with the bill.

That track has great meaning for me...I got married there! On the back stretch that runs along the water, between turns 3 and 4 there is a small pavillion that was used for the World Expo in '67, well that is where we tied the knot...it's pretty cool when the address on your wedding invitation is: 1 Circuit Gilles Villeneuve!

As as everyone left the ceremony, they got to drive a lap of the track...

A great day...

I have a bunch of family in Alymer, so I'm in your area every other weekend...
