when putting the car through its paces, first gear feels okay, and then when i shift to second gear there is a definite hesitation in acceleration. I'm throwing a 1171 code. any help? the car is a 2000 S70 T5 manual transmission.

That's a code for fuel trim.. check for leaks in the vacuum lines and the intercooler hoses. If not that, then it's probably the MAF or O2 sensors going bad.
