So leaving work, where a fight broke out as I was walking out to my car so that was pretty cool, there was a black Dodge Charger SRT8? I think it's SRT8.

He gave me the stare down as he drove past so I elegantly pulled out behind him and stayed ~3 car lengths or so behind. I turned the HIDs on so he couldn't help but notice the V in his rear view. I then noticed him leaning his head toward his window so I built a little boost and dumped it catching his eyes in his side view. Shortly after the speed limit went from 35 to 55 and he dumped into what I think was 2nd and the exhaust note led me to believe he was at WOT.

I've seen/felt Justin's wagon and even the coupe pull away faster and was just wondering if the Charger is just a sharp looking, heavy ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD slow car?

Any opinions?

I've been in one. They aren't slow.

Maybe the cat that owned it had a plain-jane charger and put srt8 badging all over it?

No idea man, it was decked out w/ ground effects, top OE wheels, some kind of LED tail setup, all black.....badges in the right places......

I was just making myself visible, that is all........the entire time I had my A/C blasting so that will give you an idea of my thoughts at the time.

When he did his little pull I was slowly accelerating to adjust to the raised speed limit freezing my balls off in the wonderful air conditioning. It was humid as hell the past few nights at work.

Haha, true but on the rare occasion I do seriously romp on the gas the A/C is off and I'm on the highway.....this was just a casual encounter at most.

The day my A/C goes out is the day I replace my evaporator.

It's got a slow leak.....last charge lasted 2 years and it was just evacuated/recharged/dyed before winter.....twice actually, once out of need and once after I changed my A/C compressor for a bearing on it's last leg.

That's what I was thinking. The one I was in blazed and kept going until he let off the gas at around 100. They pull hard.

The same coworker had a Grand Cherokee srt8 last year. Those fly.

Yeah if it was an SRT8 he didn't get on it. I pulled up to a light next to a new SRT8 Challenger when we pulled off the line I gave my car a little gas just to see what his car could do. He dropped the pedal and squealed his tires through the next 2 shifts. I didn't think I had anything close to a chance I just wanted HIM to show it off a little!!

Oh wow, I had no idea that they came w/ that much power.........maybe it was just a misbadge or a higher gear pull or lack of decent driver. It sounds like it was one of those three things for sure.

There is a such thing called an SRT design, it is pretty slow but looks like srt. It might that, cause those cars are pretty quick!

I didn't think I had anything close to a chance I just wanted HIM to show it off a little!!

I hate this kind of people, if you are trying to accelerate fast then go. Don't be a wuss!

They are NOT slow. Yes, they're heavy but they have plenty of power to make up for it. They're rated at 425bhp stock.

My buddy has an '06...with some bolt ons, he put down 420rwhp. I rode in it then and when he'd stomp it, it would just throw you back. Since then, he Supercharged it and now he's at nearly 500whp at only like 6psi. Went for a drive afterwards, and it's a beast!

I meet up some guys every week 1 with a stock SRT8 and from a 40 roll I'll pull on him. From a dig it's lights out for me, and from 60 we're actually dead even oddly enough.

Our cars are good from a roll, from a dig they're worse than a yugo My buddy has a Camaro SS that runs a 12 flat, from a dig (even with a quaife lsd) he'll destroy me on street tire vs street tire, but from a 50 roll we are dead even. But i still can't get my car into the 12's our cars pull hard once we're moving but not before
