ROCKLEIGH, N.J. (Aug. 3, 2009) - Volvo Cars of North America, LLC, reported sales of 6,441 units in the United States for July, a 25.7 percent increase over last July's sales, marking the second straight month of year-over-year sales increases.
Overall in North America (United States and Canada), Volvo has sold 40,205 units year-to-date, which represents a 27.7 percent decrease for the same period of 2008*. However, for the month of July, Volvo sales in Canada were up 39.4 percent, with 591 units sold.
Volvo forecasted higher sales this July, attributing much of the success to the company's Safe + Sound Coverage Plan, which has been extended through the end of August. Safe + Sound is available on all 2009 models. This complimentary coverage program offers tremendous value to buyers by wrapping a comprehensive list of benefits into one package. Volvo has combined additional time and mileage limits on warranty repairs and roadside assistance coverage along with enhancing wear-item coverage and extending factory scheduled maintenance coverage. For more information about the Safe + Sound Coverage Plan, visit http://www.volvocars-pr.com/.
"We're headed in the right direction," said Doug Speck, VCNA president and CEO, "Safe + Sound appeals to consumers who are wary of purchasing new vehicles because they can appreciate the value of not needing to worry about maintenance costs on top of the expense of paying for the car."
Volvo Cars of North America, LLC (VCNA) is a subsidiary of Volvo Car Corporation of Göteborg, Sweden. VCNA provides marketing, sales, parts, service, technology and training support to Volvo automobile retailers in the United States, and oversees Volvo operations in Canada.

Numbers seem screwy to me. I don't know why they mix Canadian/US numbers together sometimes and no other. Makes the statistics basically worthless.

That's the point.
Most people won't notice that they do sometimes, and don't at others. Even when you do, it makes it seem bigger and better.
More big numbers with more "plus" signs makes dumb people happy - aka, the majority.
Only individuals notice the little things.
Deadbeat, owes people money.

One of those numbers is me, wish the SS plan applied to 2010, oh well.
I picked a pretty circuitous route and arguably cheated slightly, but I'm going to get there
