It's an 1994 (PO told me '96 but vin says different), has heated seats, 3 rd row seating, alloys and is naturally aspirated. Paint is pretty faded except one door that was presumably replaced. I'm going to attempt to restore the paint this weekend. Needs a transmission, a tune up, then I'm thinking suspension.

Some stuff is broken, the interior is disgusting, and it smells funny.

Good site, lots of info. I hope I don't get carried away with this car. The fun stuff is expensive O_o Here is my Z.

strip it down, and send all the trash to hell.
turbo engine swap, manual swap, paint, lower, seats/interior, exhaust, etc...

I see a lot of potential. And for only 200 bucks, the potential is unlimited!

reds always get faded like that. a few passes with a decent polish and it will clear right off. They don't have clear coat so don't freak out when you see paint coming off onto your towel.

That's exactly the plan. Got to find a nice rubber trunk mat for it.

Yea, I noticed that when I was polishing the fender. Looks 1000% Better.

I went and ran the codes, nice diagnostic system these Volvos have. Let's see if I can figure out what the codes mean O_o

I wish I had the cash. I would love a black interior.

Just trying to see if I can get the car to move without buying another trans.

Certainly is. I have to give the plate back to my buddy. Didn't realize that the front was on with stupid torx screws. Pain in the butt.

I did some paint restoration, since I didn't feel like going back to my garage a 3rd time to get more tools.

Used Mothers cleaner wax, and the sealer glaze on the passenger side and hatch. Came out pretty nice. I'll get some pics up soon.

Been researching to see if I could save the tranny. Looks like I'll have to get into the engine bay next and start poking at stuff.

wax isn't going to restore that paint, you need to polish it and expect to wax it a few times a month

Good price, if you can get it going. How many miles?

Check under the front carpets for signs of antifreeze - if it smells funky - it may well need a heater core. At least it's an easy job unlike RWD Volvos.

I agree that it's a perfect candidate for a manual swap, if the tranny is already bad.

I see you aren't familiar with all the popular exterior paint restoration products. "Mothers Cleaner Wax" is a wax AND a polish. It removes light oxidation and gets a good shine. For spots like the hatch that more thoroughly oxidized "Mothers Sealer and Glaze" moves up a step. Great products!

170,000 ish miles. It smell's because the PO trashed it. I just did the heater core in my Z so I could have window defrosting. Was not fun, and I only allow one heater core change a year. :P

If I had the cash I would def go for a manual swap. I have other car projects to finish, classes starting up again, unemployment blah blah blah...
