Be careful selling him. When he blows the motor, he'll blame you like he did Gary...lol

Well, the car is untuned, so the warning goes without saying. If you push it right now, you're going to blow the motor...that's a given. I have told all 3 interested parties this. Tuning should also be done by a professional, and gradually!
And I am stating that there are no warranties written or implied. Once the car leaves my driveway, it's the buyer's responsibility. I will also not be involved if something goes wrong at any point after it leaves my driveway. My schedule is tight, and I am living in India now. My 2 week period during which I'll be home is the ideal time to have the person come pick it up.

All I can tell you now is that that car runs FLAWLESSLY. Not an issue to be found mechanically. I've had it up to 14psi of boost no issue, and it SCREAMS. No knocks, sounds, ticks, nothing. Tuning is an art, and if it's not done correctly, or put into the wrong hands, it can go terribly wrong.

Garys motor was not blown, it was an old tired engine.

We took the whole thing apart. Bad detonation around the piston rings.

Besides that, I don't recollect blaming Gary for anything.

Not what he said and not based on the comments you've made on SS.

And ummm.....you really think your detonation was caused by a tired motor and not the tune? :monkey: I mean it couldn't possibly be the fact you were driving the crap out of a car that was tuned based on a completely different geographical climate and other parameters....

Good looking out Pras on the disclaimer.....Even though anyone on this board or who knows you would/should ever doubt your integrity with items you sell. :D Good luck with sale.

What do you mean "not what he said". I never said anything to him even remotely close to ANY accusation. And what comments are you referring to on SS?? You'll have to refresh my memory because I can't remember anything like you're suggesting. And what do you mean by "other parameters"?

I hadn't driven the car briefly, but maybe twice/three times when a tapping sound started. It happened when I shifted from third to fourth @ 3000rpm.

Granted, it's a possibility that his tune could have caused a problem in a different climate, but not necessarily. ( I don't remember Gary ever telling me he had it professionally tuned. Maybe he had it tuned and didn't tell me...I dunno.)

But when we couldn't source the problem on the top end of the motor, usual things, valves, lifters, etc., we decided to do a tear-down. It's then when you get to see what condition the engine is in overall. He said it was babied for 120,000 miles. Well, sorry, but I beg to differ. I'm not saying it was Gary. It could well have been the previous owner for all I know. But this engine had some rough and tough miles put on her.

Take it for what it's worth.

This is a freshly rebuilt engine which has only about 1000-2000 miles on it...maybe 3000 maximum. I did the proper break-in procedure on it, and even drove it to Houston and back once. The only issue I had with it was it was running pig rich, and that was remedied by smaller injectors and Turbo Tuner. I even changed the oil after switching out the injectors and tune because of the rich condition and it's effect on the oil. I've changed the oil 4 times in 3 years, even though it was only driven a couple of thousand miles and sat in the garage! And, all synthetic. I'm selling the car as-is. If you blow it up, it's your problem lol. I know my car, including the very depths of the engine, because I was there when it was taken apart, and I was there when it was put together. I've overseen and been there for almost every step. If something goes wrong, I can almost guarantee with 100% accuracy that it's the driver's fault! Therefore, I can sell this car with a clear conscious! It's a sweet car, and I hate to sell it after all of the time and money I've invested in it, but bigger, better things are calling! I don't want to shed any tears when it leaves my driveway, but I make no promises. The car is my baby.

AND....

I am firm on my price. I'd like to get a $5000 non-refundable deposit before the end of June. I've extended the offer of payments through the end of September to 2 interested parties, both of whom are working out loans/finances.
The car must leave my driveway by the end of September. I'd prefer to have a buyer pay in full by the end of July, and pick the car up by the end of July. This is ideal because I will be heading back to India on July 29th. If the buyer can take the car while I'm home, I can spend as much time as needed walking him/her through all of the gadgets and quirks of the car. It will give me time to explain the alarm system and remote door poppers, suspension adjusment, how to work the audio/video system, explain the Turbo Tuner ECU, and so forth. This is why I stress full payment by mid to end of July, and coming and picking the car up then also. I will be in India from July 29th onwards for a year or more, without a trip home. If you were to pick the car up anytime after July, then I'd have to walk the buyer through basics over the phone. I may not be able to explain everything at that point, but I will be able to explain everything necessary to get the buyer home safely.
Once the car is sold, I'd like to stay out of the process thereafter. Tuning, and any other work which the buyer may want to do will be at the buyer's discretion and expense, and I will not be available to give advice or lend a hand with ANYTHING. I will be doing my final year of dental school, and one reason I need to sell the car is so that I can pay my tuition, and secondly because I just don't have the time or energy to play with a machine like this. I won't be home for another 2 years, and the car will just sit and collect dust. I'd love to have it go to someone committed to completing the project and tuning it, and pampering it till it's very last days!

sub and amps are not included with the car. neither is the cb radio unit...

you get everything else pictured....the roof rack, wheels and spacers which are currently on the car...all the door and rear tailgate speakers, and the head unit, overhead dvd player...all the gauges are also included...wb02, dpic, boost, ebc, turbo timer (not working).
a single remote is included for the viper alarm, and two keys. i'd have to double check, but I'm pretty sure i have the original key fob also.

as far as extra parts, there is a box which has tons of nuts and bolts from the car...there are a couple of extra headlight lenses, the springs for the bov, some vac hoses and clamps...nothing major left. a box of relays, wires, etc....you get the V70 foglights i have laying in a box.

basically, you're taking the car as pictured, without sub and amps. i just wanted to clarify this. don't expect too much extra stuff because there isn't much major crap laying around now....just what's listed above....and oh yeah, you don't get my PRAS Swedish license plate and bracket lol...i'm keeping that.

After a couple of months of serious interest, the buyer of the car has backed out!

I am lowering the deposit to $1000, non-refundable. You're more than welcome to come see and drive the car...runs great except for the speedo not working. It should be an easy fix, but I just haven't figured out what that fix is! Either way, the original cluster of the car will be included with the sale, along with the one that is currently installed....mileage is accurate on both.

I will not be doing anything the car for the buyer. I have no time now! The car is sold as it is right now, with the items/mods listed. I cannot fix the speedo or paint the bumper or anything. That will be the buyer's responsibility. These are easy things which can be completed in a week....I just don't have the time.

If you're interested, you can see the car this weekend in Dallas/Ft. Worth at the North Texas Volvo meet, or you can come by Dallas anytime before July 29th to view and purchase. I need to sell this car before July 29th because I am leaving for India and I won't be back for 2 years! I need the tuition money for my final year of dental school!
