Hello all,

The right rear speaker on my rear parcel shelf is blown and I've been searching for replacements. I have an aftermarket JVC head unit and factory speakers everywhere. I'm not looking for a major swap here, but I can't find a good, simple, replacement for those speakers. Every thread I've seen is about the factory upgrades using the C70 speakers, or some flavor of 6x9's, etc. Does anyone have a recommendation for simple drop in speakers that will simply fit and work? Thanks.

Thanks, but that's where I went first. They do not have fitments for the 8" driver in the rear parcel shelf, just the front and rear doors.

Hey Clarke,

I feel your pain, few things are worse than one oddly sized speaker blowing out. The problem is that many, if not all speaker companies have gone from 8" round to 6x9 because more rear decks can fit them and better sound (debatable). Consequently when mine blew and a suitable/functional replacement could not be found in my scrap yards i dropped a JVC 6x8 into the whole, and all that was required was drilling two new holes. The quality was decent, but was only really meant for a temporary fix as i have since put in a set of 6x9's.

Sorry i could not provide you with an 8" solution, but figured i would pass on my experience in the hopes of providing you with a possible alternate possibility.

you could just try an 8 in speaker that they sell, and mod your deck to fit it?
