I am looking to add a 12VDC Car Power Accessory Outlet to run my sirius radio. Can I just wire this directly into the cig lighter wires? Is there a better way to hardwire this in to free up my cig lighter for the cell phone charger when needed? This is what i bought to use. I just need to be sure that I don't burn my car up!!!

You can hardwire it, but I ran mine to the cig lighter behind the center console. No one ever uses that anyways.

I only have one cig lighter in the front nothing in the rear, I don't think.

Never seen an 850 with a rear lighter... want, but not seen.

I run my hd tuner off of the accessory connector under the dash. It's fine for low-drain devices, but i wouldn't hook an amp or even a HU to it.

Which brings up the question of wtf is there to plug into that?

Where is the accessory connector under the dash? Or are you talking about one you installed?

it's above/behind the drivers side underdash panel, mine seems to hang just to the left of the brake pedal, but i dont know that a p.o. didnt move it for easier access (there had been at least 2 different phones installed before i got the car).

I actually ran a bazooka powered sub off it for a year or so, but that was on a 3a fuse so i wouldn't pull too much juice...

You are wrong. Two cigarette lighters appear only on the X70s. The 850s have only one.
