Is the only option for running the wideband and EGT wires (which are larger than most) drilling a hole in the firewall and routing them that way? The pass through is way too small. The only option you'd have there is cutting the connectors off and reconnecting them on the other side.

Any other suggestions would be great, I'd like to get this finished tonight.

Hey dude, I did my Wideband harness thru the existing firewall conduit. I did a pictorial of it, I'll try to find it and give you a link. Not too hard actually. Give me a bit of time.

Why would you get a minus 2? It's a legit question.
"Property is the fruit of labor...property is desirable...is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built." - Abe Lincoln

People are minus happy on this site. Any thread without a picture of a volvo with a giant turbo gets a minus... or anything Dave posts

Anyways, I routed it through the door, I cut out a portion of the door seal and squeezed the wire through it. Doesn't kink, totally proected from water, and the harness goes straight up to the strut brace so it's protected from the heat. Works perfectly! Saved me tons of trouble rather than drilling another hole through the firewall.

I don't have anymore room in the firewall pass through. The EGT wiring was the last thing that would fit.

You don't have to cut the connector, just remove the wires from it... that's what I did to get it through, along with lots of silicone spray. My pass through is packed! (Wideband, Apexi, boost, EGT, etc...)

Haha, so is mine. I have EGT, boost, switch for my halos and wiring for my duel stage boost controller. So there was no way I was fitting the wideband harness through there.

The door technique works awesome though, I don't know why more people don't do that.

And I'm wondering if Wingnut ever found the link to his write up?

thanks

my boost gauge is routed through my fender and then through the door jam rubber thingy , works fine and keeps the line away from other stuff

I ran mine through the steering column tunnel. The opening is huge, and it's just a rubber seal blocking it off. Not even a full fledged grommet.

I have NO idea why people ever recommend to drill a new hole with that huge gaping hole already there!

Thanks everyone for the quick reply! People must be back at work...

I like the idea of the steering column, sounds simple enough...

I also used this location for my wideband. There is a convenient ground location in the passenger foot well also. I tried to get a pic but it was with a cell phone in the dark and it was snowing so I didn't try too many times haha.

The wideband controller is zip tied near by, and you can see the wires running to the grommet, which I tried to pull out a little so you can see it better (can see yellow behind it). There is a fair amount of room there for more wires too.

Hope this pic helps, please excuse the dirt and snowflakes!
