Everyone has obviously seen this before...
I'm going to have an extra hood with pretty crappy paint on it this weekend.
I was thinking of stripping it, painting it a base color, having a friend of mine go to town with a case of sharpies on it, and then clear coat it.
What kindof color combo do you think would look good? Other than the obvious black on white.
This would be more for a display of some sort, and would least likely actually go on a car... unless it was for a show or something?

it would be HOT if you painted it with the chalkboard paint!!!!!!!!!!!
then if you go to shows u can just let people draw all over it.

he's also an incredibly rich tattoo artist, now
i was just presented with an idea - stripped down to bare metal, sanded with a radial sander (for finish effects) and then "graffitied" with some sort of VS logo incorporated?

VS logo would be sweet... There was an older Wagon with green chalkboard paint all over it I saw in some old Carlisle Pics... would be cool, it's been done but not enough to be the new pegs.

I'd say don't do it.
But if you're set on doing it, don't use rattle can clear. The chemical they add to the paint to make it lay flat will separate the inks and you'll end up with a blurry purple mess.

Sharpie murals are usually candied over. Showcar of the year "Rollin Malo" had sharpie murals in some of the patterns
