Well, I guess it might be a touch low, (they were all actually closer to 150, but I felt like a tard writing 148, so I just rounded down...I'm just happy they are all relatively consistent.

So I played a bit with the car this morning, I put the stock tune in and dialed the boost down to 12. EXACT same behavior, so it's for sure not a tune issue. But I did notice something that may or may not help, the lag/mud feeling occurs ANYWHERE below 4000 rpm when coming into boost. As soon as I hit 4000 rpm, it free's up and takes off...both tunes...anywhere above 8psi of boost...So as long as I mat it, and get the car to kick down and bring the revs up, she goes, but if I ease into it, and it stays below 4K, it's a dog...
I'm going to take a video tonight of the experience so you can all see it.
Believe it or not, this is kinda fun...until I find out it's going to cost me $$ to fix...

Numbers are more or less irrelevant unless you have a gauge with current calibration or a very nice gauge that has been calibrated and stored carefully. What is important is evenness.

165 sounds about right, 140s seems low, but it is entirely probable that it's a discrepancy between the two gauges being used.

FWIW I tested 185-195 across all 5 on one of my last engines. My gauge was off, as many are...

All I can say is "F"U"C"K" ya!!! A manual yellow, feels pretty damn special!

The weird acceleration issue is still there, but no where near as bad as it was before. I'm not saying the swap fixed the problem, I'm just saying that the manual dulls it big time.

I'll be hitting the dyno on Saturday so I can get some true data as to what's going on, but regardless, the car feels fast and rowing gears is a god given right...now if only it was RWD the world would be perfect...

Yes, they did it again. Made the most sense given they had just done my las one. Hopefully, I don't crash anytime soon.

Well, apparently swapping out the auto and putting in the manual has curred my weird acceleration/hesitation issue...so go figure...

I still haven't made it to the dyno yet, hoping this week, to get data on the car and see if the problem is still there, but just masked by the way the manual delivers the power.

I'm running the car @ 17psi with the new ipd tune, (thanks lucky, it's brilliant), and it's a freakin' rocket ship...(to me of course)...much quicker than Darth ever was. Regardless of what the dyno #'s come out at, this car is plenty fast enough for me now.

Next steps are going to be cosmetic from now on. Time to focus on cleaning things up, easy stuff to pick away at without taking the car off the road.
The big clean up project will be the front and rear bumpers, they really need help getting back to being black...
I also want to clean up the engine bay a bit with a few simple "paint" jobs...

Otherwise, until something breaks, Yarth is now better than Darth was the day I crashed it...(it has been my goal to get it back to Darth's state since the crash, so this feels pretty satisfying...)

Hope to have some Dyno #'s to attach this week...

Where do you go for your dyno sessions? I was gonna hit up Mopac this Saturday for my baseline dyno before swapping in the new motor (formerly Darth's, but built this time around). We should go and take pics/vids :)

I went to Race Greedy on Lougheed. $100 for an hour. They are alright, nothing special, but then you aren't tuning on the fly or anything, so you just need somewhere to get #'s from.

If you go to Mopac, I'd be interested to hear about it.

Good luck

Been a long while since I`ve updated this thread...not much to report other than having a kid... :D

But today, I managed to actually do something to my car! And it`s...drum roll....HID`ZZZZZZZZ!!! HAHA...it`s about time I did it based on the stereo types that 850 ownership apparently brings...
These are 55W 6000's btw...

Anyway, it was pretty straight forward, followed some of the how 2`s for the projectors threads that exist...I had needed to pull my lights anyway as something wasn`t right with one of them as the ``Angel Eye`s`` had stopped working.
In the end, I`m pretty happy with the light they throw...can`t really comment on much of anything else as it was still light out when I finished. Forgot to take after shots in the dark, and I`m to tired to go do it now...Hope you like where I hid one of the ballast `s...manual tranny leaves room in the ECU box...

Somethings missing:

Stereo Update - Installed the Alpine ixa-w407 - Double Din.

Pretty simply install.

Removed one of the "tabs" on the inside, and it slide right in, fits like a charm I'd say...

^^ Nice! That looks really slick. For the longest time I was wondering whether or not I should go with a double din unit, or a single din and leave space for moar gauges. Of course I opted for the latter, and my excuse was "real men don't need GPS" and "the only music I need is the music of a T5".  Yep...got laughed at good :P

Yup - I love the car, but needing something else...I'm not rushing to sell it, and if I don't get the right price, I'll just keep it...

So I decided to keep it...and damn if I'm not happy about that...
The paint needed some love, so I sent it out for a full cut and protect at one of our local detail shops...
WOW - The picture does zero justice to how much of an improvement this is. It's so yellow I can hardly believe my eyes...
I've got a few little plans for it, but this car is just so damn perfect...
