Okay so very excited, I finally receive my HID kit from Sharp HID. I proceed to hook everything up. Instructions are pretty straight forward.

I go to turn on my headlight switch and get nothing.
Except the idiot light on the dash. <_<

Since it was getting dark out I removed the HID harness's from the car
and reinstalled the halogens with no illumination problems. Or dash idiot lights.

When I say dash light I'm talking about the blown bulb idiot light, (Not the high beams) The high beams were able to work with the low beam Hids installed.
The car just won't light the Hids for the low beam selection.

I have all the correct voltages to that area, the stock halogens light up fine.

98 S70 GLT blown bulb sensor why am I getting this problem.

The HID's operate out of the car with 12 volts hooked to them fine. (almost blinded myself) They just won't work in the car using the headlight connector.

What's the deal? Has anyone had this problem.

Tell me I missing something? I need help.

im 99% sure you have the headlight connector in backwards. Flip it 180 degrees and try again. on HIDs polarity matters. Happens to the best of us.

I tested with a DMM that the positive from the headlight connector is going to the positive HID harness connector.

However most of the connectors Keyed so this shouldn't happen... I'll try to see where I can flip it.

it looks like its keyed, but for some reason the way it looks is the opposite of how it should go. Try flipping the headlight connector to ballast connection.

Your right!!! OH For crying out loud, Following the key isn't the way it should be connected  . Yellow to red on the harness. DOH!

Aequitas_Veritas PM me for your fruit basket. ;)

You know sometimes following the directions and or what your instinct has taught you to line up keyed connectors.

In this case this is not true. This really kicked my arse and I do this sort of thing for a living. The golden rock award goes to Me.

here's my mistake.

like I said. Not the first person this has happened to. It happened to me, as well as several other people who I have recommended HIDs to who then call me pissed when they don't work.

I too have had a problem installing my 55 Watt HID kit into my 2007 S60. Even after reversing my connection to the correct polarity, my HID's turn on for 5 seconds and turn off, followed by the Bulb Out dash warning. I even tried the Bulb Out Cancellors with my HID kit and no luck. Any ideas?
