Ticking is too fast to be a lifter. So much for the 19T being safe.

U know the cams spin twice as fast as the crank right? :)

I can't see the vid on my phone but if its a fast tick at idle its lifters. There is no low oil light. Well there is but its at the bottom of the lipstick. If it hasn't been dog it long it might be ok if you change the oil and it still ticks try a heavier oil or o-rings

Hard to tell from your video, but I was getting a tick/knock when oil level was slightly low, and after WOT runs. I was worried so I posted a video here and a some said "bent rods"; others said "lifter tick". I added some oil and when drove it the next day the tick was gone. I got new oil pan O-rings and haven't heard it since.

Other way around. Lifter tick is half as fast as a bent rod hitting the camshaft, since the cams turn once every two crank revolutions

dammit. I took too long  <_<

Does not sound like a rod to me, too fast, and there is allot of valve train or aux drive noise. Something seems off, but I cant define it way over here. Stethesvope ot big screwdriver or even a wooden dowel will help isolate the area where the sound is coming from. If it is a shot alternator (for instance), when you put the listening tool on it the noise will be so damn loud you will know you found the probleem. Internal to motor is tougher but you can still get some clues by listening in.

Volvo recommended 40-15 for these motors NEW across a very broad temperature range, and 30-10 is too light for any season in so cal. I hope a change takes care of it, and consider upping to 40-15. The engine design is 15 years old, the tolerances that were held at the date of manufacture are largely what drive the viscosity requirement. I doubt there is any gasoline engine being sold today that specs 40-15, but that does not change the parameters that were in place when your motor went together.

The smiley was me being a smart ass ;)

Main point of my post was that it seemed he was overlooking lack of oil/low pressure at idle due to no DUMMY light. I haven't seen the vid but as soon as he said it went away in higher rpms it pointed to lifters.

Okay, proceed with the flaming.

Like it or not, neither one of us take it personally, we are actually very alike I think. Grow a set, its the internet and sarcastic remarks come off as bashing. Whats with all the tampons latley? We are having fun, something alot more people need to take up. I only bashed his slow, fat, mentally retarded car. You know I love you

Longbitch, does it go away after you reach full operating temp and your oil pressure drops to normal?

We sold this customer our "Cookie Cutter" Stage-2 Tuning designed for use with the STOCK turbo. It is always advised to purchase "Full Custom" tuning when major engine changes are made.

F.Y.I. Fuel Octane in this clients state is also only 91 Octane, another risk factor to consider when pushing the limits of your engine.
