When ever I accelerate from around 60mph, my car vibrates. The feeling is gone if I let off the gas of put it in N. If I accelerate hard in 3rd gear, the vibration is very strong.

The wheels are balanced and the car is aligned properly. There is no noise from the CV joints when driving around slowly and visually they look fine. No popping and clicking when turning. Just this vibration when putting the power down.

it is most likely your inner cv joint on the pass. side as this will cause this. the pass. side axle is usually the one that goes bad 9 out of 10 times.

The shaking is always much worse when I have a passenger in the car.

+1 about a good source to find one. I only want OEM Volvo parts.

RAXLES is the best source. Complete rebuilds, lifetime warranty.

OEM is still going to be a rebuild and you are looking @400 from Volvo.

I have the exactly same problem although it feels like the vibration is coming from the left wheel. OP where is your vibration located exactly?

My local o'rilleys has all new axels for $75. I have them and they are a bit beefier looking than the oem ones I replaced.

If nobody can get them locally email me I can arrange shipping.

Its a made in USA brand so I am sure its not OE.

I didnt put calipers on them but the shaft alone was about .25 bigger than the oem. The nut end was the same size as the splines, ie, no taper to nut size.

Came in a nice box with a new nut for $75 FOB. Had a card that explained that it was not a re-manufactured part and did not contain any reman'd parts. And best of all no core charge because they didnt reman the axels.

It's spread out evenly. It is much more apparent with someone in the passenger seat.

I'd still replace that right side mount. If it is worn and that side of the engine sits lower, it will change the drive shaft angle... albeit slightly, but perhaps just enough to cause you problems.

I have the exact issue however some days mine is better or worse, but always is bad when i really step on it to get going, is the install of a new right CV joint hard? I have a 2001 volvo s80 t6 btw.

the engine mount theory seems likely, you would hear snap crackle and pop if it were just the cv joint. the fact that you are putting a lot of torque on the mounts, twisting the motor in the compartment, would lead to the axles being forced to shift as previously mentioned. i would check this out before throwing money at parts you might not need, yet. stick a pry bar in there and see if you can shift the engine where the mount is.
