Ok so I finally received one of the first parts I was waiting for, here is the resoning behind it. As you know, P2s have the lousiest power steering tanks because they leak like a biotch around the cap and the seem... I was tired of it and decided to do something about it, I bought this tric Moroso Power Steering tank, it's a drop in replacement for various fords like explorers, recent mustangs and a few more, so... you guessed it, it's not a drop in for P2s
That said this will require a small insision in the ECU/TCM box, in my case this is a non issue because 1 of the 2 slots in this box is empty since I have a M56 5 speed. I will chop a cube on the side of the box and fabricate a small wall to close the ECU box around the side of the new PS tank. A bracket will be made to hold the new tank in place, more on that when I start the install sometime next week.
Dimensions of the new tank is quite similar to the OEM tank as the stocker is about 2.125 x 7 inches and about 3 inches high while the moroso unit is 3x3 and 4 and 1/4 inches high. the inlet and outlet tips for the hoses are exactlly the same dimension (10mm and 20mm respectivly) and although the small tip is o the under side of the tank, the stock tank has a hose inside the tank that feeds from the bottom, so it's the same diffrence.

The capacity of the moroso unit is aprox 100ml (more precision when i remove the stocker and measure the exact capacities of both) more than the stocker wich will alow abit more fluid in the system for better (slightly) cooling/heat dissipation.
The Anodized aluminium cap is solid as a rock and the seal is absolutly tight, pressure is released through a minuscule hole on the top of the unit to allow proper fluid expantion/contraction.
Rational beind this mod is listed bellow in order of interest
1- no more leaks on the ECU/TCM box
2- better heat dissipation
3- underhood bling
4- If this works out great; Giving you fellas an option if you have the same problem other than buying a new OEM tank and seeing it piss everywhere in a mater of months.
A few pics of th tank and comparison shots in the engine bay to give you an idea of the proportions and look.
