How hard is it to remove the volvo emblem from the stock grill? Will it leave any noticeable marks if I do so?

Thanks

will also leave some small squares where the slash posts mount. I cut mine out, they're pretty noticable.

PM Dongle...he might have some good pictures of his. He removed the slash, filled in the indentations on the vertical bars, and re painted. Looks great!

I recommend drilling a series of small holes in the recessed area in addition to roughing up the surface. That way the bondo will not be easily taken out by rock chips, birds, etc.

I popped off the emblem then spray painted (with Kylon Fusion) a piece of plastic mesh that I "bolted over" with black zip ties. I think it came out pretty good. Total cost was $9 for the can of paint and zip ties, got the dogie gate for free out of the trash. :o LOL

I took the sash off the 850 when I had it, filled the cracks with bondo and then painted it all black. I left the mounting points just incase, but you can get rid of those too. Just throw some bondo over the areas that need them and you should be good to go. You can use something with a straight edge to make sure that the bondo hardens in the correct shape, and then sand down as needed.

Shouldn't take more than a weekend if you're real slow with it.

The blacked out stock grill looks better than the aftermarket mesh ones. And with the slash out, I don't think the indents are that noticeable, but when you do notice it, it doesn't look good.

There are no aftermarket grills for the S80. :( Only options are DIY or stick with the stock look.

Really? Are you sure it's not a discontinued product? Please provide a link where I can purchase one.

Well, I found a couple companies that USED TO make S80 grills but I couldn't find any that still do... couldn't find any used ones on eBay either. :( Seems like most of the aftermarket goodies are for the S60 nowadays. Only old farts drive S80s I guess. :o

Says 1999-2003 up to chassis 334999 so you're still SOL if you've got a 2004+ S80 though.
