got some new, amazing team dynamics race 1 wheels off of gary, offset is amazing, clearance is amazing, weight is amazing, look is stellar, condition is perfect, and so on.

Only thing is I get some rubbing over bumps from the fenders due to the offset. I'm planning on rolling the fenders tomorrow afternoon. First time doing this, seems pretty straight forward. Some PVC or a baseball bat, wrap it in rubber or something soft, lift the car a bit put it over the wheel between the fender, lower it and roll away. Repeat a couple of times until roll is achieved. Use heat gun on area to avoid paint peel.

Anybody have any tips/advice to make sure I don't eff up the job?

Front or rear? Rears have to be cut, and re riveted. Fronts wood bat or PVC is the way to go, but dont wrap it in rubber. PVC and wood will both slide without marring, rubber will not

Are you sure that they are rubbing on metal and not just the fender liner?

Fronts and rears. I'm carrying about 100lbs of unnecessary weight that may be the cause for the rears, but when you think about it that's a really small girl. So I'll want to roll the rears too. Rivets on the fender liner is what you're talking about?

Yup, wheel diameter + tire diameter is the same, car hasn't been lowered further, the only thing that's changed to cause rubbing is the offset.

How is using a roller going to help you not needing to get your fenders resprayed? It's the same process.

Same process....sort of. But it carries a benefit of more control and less chance of messing it up. I paid $100 to get mine rolled and that was money well spent.

Rolled lots of fenders and have never needed to have the car or fenders resprayed. As for rivets, the rear liners need to be removed and trimmed back. In addition you need a metal cutter to trim back the fenders as the rears cannot be rolled. From there drill a few holes and pop-rivet the liners back in. I have posted pics of the process before. Not hard just a pain and takes some time

My rears are rolled. Not as much as the front, but they are rolled. I did have ONE issue with the paint cracking in one spot though.

Fine! You cannot roll the rears enough to matter without dicking the paint. They need to be cut.

Agreed. Just cut them,it will be better in the long run. Not to mention...if you AREN'T using a roller, those rears wont be fun at all.

Oh so you didn't roll the rears at all. You just cut off what like ~1/2" off the inside lip of the fender, drilled your holes and rivet?

Now that I look at it, are you saying that you actually cut up the fender (like increased the diameter of the wheel well fender side) then flanged a lip in towards the axle, drilled and rivet?

I think I figured it out. I was just confusing myself because I thought your picture was a before/after, but realized it was the after picture.

Basically, I just need to remove the liner temporarily. Then cut the metal away from the axle about where the red line in the picture shows to where you show it. Then drill some holes and pop rivet. Only thing I can't figure out is why I need to cut the fender liner? Wouldn't it stay the same length?  roll.jpg   104.46K   20 downloads

If you don't cut the fender liner, it will stick out towards the outside of the car.

Maybe you just need to remove the liner, cut the fender...and then you'll see what we mean.
