i know volvo used this tranny up through 99 or 00. are they all interchangeable? mechanically identical? can i put a 2000 into my 95 855? i thought there was something different with the rpm sensor? please elaborate as you are able

I know for a fact that it will not work on a 95 because the 94 - 95 have a speedo sensor in the transmission and the 96 and newer Volvos used the ABS to determine your speed.
