If you look back you'll see that some months ago I posted about my T5r and its hiccups. Well they've got worse, in spite of all our efforts. My mechanic cannot get hold of the electrical schematic for the Motronic installation in the car. The box is 0 261 203 626. All he has been able to find here is the layout for connection to a box whose "B" connector has three rows of 10 contacts each while the actual box has three rows of 15 contacts in its "B" connector. He wants to check the parameters for each contact but cannot get the correct details.

Your help in getting a source of this detailed information would be MOST appreciated.

Do you mind telling us what is going on with your car? We may be able to tell you what the issue is without needing to get the wiring diagram.

It's a very long story to do with rough rich running and severe hiccupping which originally occurred when cold but which now happens all of the time. We've had a variety of codes, including the usual ones. We've replaced plugs, leads, air mass meter, throttle position sensor, lambda sensor, coil, injectors, distributor cap and lots of pipes and tubes. This has been going on for months. Now we want to check the outputs of all contacts on the box but can't get the necessary data.

Hi, FCP Groton! I think that we may already be in touch elsewhere..... Thank you for your interest. I hope that you can help with the data we need for the box.

Oh dear, it's a bit quiet here! Can't I get this information or have I not been clear enough?

That looks very promising, thank you BlackT5. Does that tie in with the Bosch box ref. number 0 261 203 626? It certainly seems to have 45 contacts in each of the "A" and "S" connectors. Is it the schematic for the box for your T5? I presume that your car isn't a T5r so is it an 850 T5?

Edited to add that I see at the bottom that you've written "1998 S70 T5 M(anual?)" so I take that to mean that the schematic is for one of those. I'll now try to print your post and hope that I can make it legible on A4 because it's very big and I'm no computer expert!

Thank you once again for your help.

I've managed to print it, thank you BlackT5, and I'm off to the workshop to give it to the mechanic. It looks brilliant, exactly what we need, but fingers crossed that it matches up with our box.....

I'll let you know!

Have just got back from workshop, BlackT5, and everything is looking promising. The mechanic has a few queries about the identification of some of the components on the schematic (7/47, 8/18 and 8/43 among others). Do you have an identifying list of the components on the schematic which you might post here, please?

I had an index linked to .pdf files of components, diagrams and procedures for the 850 (http://adde.myftp.org/volvo850/) which I believe was linked to "Addekarlsson" but it seems to have disappeared since I last used it about a year ago. Does that address ring any bells with you?

I really feel that the information you've given me is exactly what I need, thank you.

I don't have a list of the component numbers, but there are some listed in the Haynes manual. Also, if you just follow a wire from the component on the diagram above to the ECU A or B connector, you can just reference it in the pinout I posted above.

For example, 8/18 is from the EVAP system. components like 7/47 are not on all models, hence the dashed lines on the diagram. The diagram above is for Motronic 4.3/4.4 and the pinout listing is for 4.3. Your T5R is 4.3.

Thanks again BlackT5. I'll have a look at Haynes - I imagine that you mean the one for the Volvo rather than a different one for Motronic - and I hope that I find something to help with those numerical identifiers. We're getting stuck in over the next few days so I may go quiet for a while!

This may have what you're looking for. Pretty much the same schematic i think, but with locations and names.

Hi, MyCarisRed. Thank you for the offer of the .pdf file, which I would very much like to have, but the site won't allow me to download it for some reason, even though I am correctly signed in.

If you have any suggestions as to how I might get it then I would be very happy.

Cheers,

John.

Perhaps it's because it still thinks I'm a guest even though I registered well over two years ago and this is my twelfth post! I noticed just now that, having signed in, my profile showed that I wasn't currently on line - which seemed odd!

Perhaps a mod could fix it? Maybe I should write that in capitals.....

PERHAPS A MOD COULD FIX IT?

Here's hoping....

Well, thank you all for your help. BlackT5, your schematic was 99% correct and enabled the mechanic to trace everything. He found a discrepancy and it proved to be the fault we've been looking for for a very very long time. Indeed I now believe that the fault was there from new but got much worse over the past year or two. The delay in coming back witht he answer has been due to the difficulty we found in getting the replacement part which was......... the ignition amplifier! The car is now as it has never been before. What I abcolutely cvannot understand is why, when there are fault codes for the strangest and least important faults, there has been no code showing for something so important and fundamental.
